How about both companies are fairly innovative and we as consumers are free to purchase one both none as we please?
you know if there is a big difference between the ones with primeknit and the standard NMD's?

Repped. Why can't we all just get along?
For real though. In the grand scheme of things, Adidas does not have a vice grip on the market as a whole. Maybe in running and lifestyle (from Boosts and Yeezys), but even at that, Nike is right up there.
Adidas is not even close in having a hand in running shoes at all, all those UB sales are mainly being used for casual wear. It's really all lifestyle for them and the trend these days just happens to be sleek running shoes even if they do not perform well at all.

Nike and adidas arent looked on very favorably among the running community.
They are hardly in the top 10 best runners every year
But these new yeezy runners.
Pure unadultered magma
these are dope. dont know how they are going to perform. but these look nice....better than Lebrons or Kyries IMO.

How original
lol. you acting like those shoes been out for years.
i wont lie, i am impressed with the SC4s. much much better than his last shoe.
obviously nike doesnt have a patent on the sock-collar thing if other brands are copying the design.
Nobody denying the fact that Nike will always be iconic and nothing can ever touch the original releases of the Jordan 1-13.
With that said Nike hasn't made anything innovative in the last 5years. The leading Lebron line is a joke and there are way better alternatives outside of Nike when it comes to basketball, running, and lifestyle shoes. Outside of Nike Retros what does Nike have? Adidas is heading into the right direction focusing on comfort/new designs while Nike is making lazy designs and focused on Hype/loyalty.
Props to Adidas hopefully it lights fire under Nike and at the end of the day we get better quality/ more innovative products from both companies.
But I can't ride/take up for Nike when every new design I see is unispired.
Wut?
Flyknit and Techfleece have been flagship materials that were released in the last 5 years. Lebron's line wasn't as good in the last few years as it only really caters to bigger players, but KD, Kyrie and Kobe cover comfort and performance on court. You want to talk hype and lack of innovation, Adidas has absolutely nothing EXCEPT the Boost line. Those sales are because of Boost/Yeezys and nothing else really (D. Rose, Lillard and EQT/Retros contribute very little in the bigger picture)
All Adidas is doing is taking something that works and is popular for youngins, Boost, and throwing Primknit at it in different patterns, caged or no cage, rinse and repeat. They're milking the various "similar but different' designs and can only go so far. And Primeknit is basically a knock-off Flynit to compete against it in the running category.
They literally dropped weeks apart.
Nike sued Adidas to keep PK out of the market but couldn't make the case that there was copyright infringement or any other wrongdoing from Adidas (it did keep primeknit out of the US market for a year, enough for Nike to capitalize on the Flyknit's presence at the Olympics). I understand that you prefer NIke, but can we stop inventing things just to support opinions?
Also, the Lebron/KD lines weren't as good because they got uglier or/and innovation went the wrong way (let's not even mention the colorways).
And you know what? I could say that Nike Free bit Feet You Wear (concepts behind both techs are similar); I could also say that Kobe lows bit Gilbert Arenas two previous signature shoes. I could say that the Nike Rift bit the EQT Racer. Nobody said Nike bit the Micropacer when they introduced Nike+ in the Moire.
The fact is, brands get design inspiration from many things and places, their competitors included. The problem with Nike fanboys is that they think the swoosh has the monopoly on new ideas, mostly because they generally don't pay attention to anything else.
