Air Jordan 3Lab5 "Metallic" - Releasing Fall 2014?

I've never seen so many dudes moan and cry about no leather sock liner, no Re card, no wax laces. Really? Last time I checked Phil Knight or MJ didn't have a pistol to your head threatening to pull the trigger if you didn't buy these shoes. While some were entered into the raffle drawings, others lined up and the rest ordered online. You had significant time to say no but you didn't. Dude complain about anything. I understand if you're spending more $250 (shipping and tax included) you want certain things (such as wax laces, etc, etc) but guess what, when buying a pair of J's, it's not like going to Burger King and having it your way, you're getting served up whatever they feel like cooking up! If you don't like the quality, don't buy! If you don't like the color, don't buy! If there is something off that you just don't like, then guess what, don't buy!!! I don't buy every Jordan that comes out (but I do admit I had every color XIV and XV before I sold my collection in the early 2000s) because I am selective. If I see a pair I like, I copp, simple as that. Why ***** about certain things over and over when I am always spending my money because I really don't have to spend if I don't like it.

It's like marrying a bad *** chick and going into it knowing she's promiscuous but thinking she'll change just because you decided to wife her up. After a kid or two, or maybe even before then, she realizes this isn't the life for her and she starts back doing what she does. When you find out, you start crying and *****ing to your homies about her! Well, you knew from the start what it was but you made that leap and didn't have too, YOU CHOOSE TOO! Just like you choose to buy Js. If you don't like something about the shoe then don't buy it. You can't justify *****ing about something you know after the fact. I like my 3lab5s (metallics). Hell, I can wear these with pretty much anything compared to the original 3lab5s. Wax laces or not I decided to spend my money on these because I wanted too, so why should I *****!

Exactly! Which is why I didn't buy these to complete my lab collection. Only if I see these for $175-200 will I cop. I will take a gently worn pair for that price

Happens over and over.. People buy and then complain. Go return them if you dont like them its simple. Its not gonna help posting your rants in here about the quality :)) those shoes are the same to me, just different colors. Quality? Same. Just different looks. Other one just looked darker and with a red paint. I never complained about the qualities of my Js tho i see some flaws. It is how it is. No shoe is perfect. No shoe. Even those ogs have flaws.

I respect those who are dissappointed or Not contented with these you can post them here. But im gonna laugh when you say jordan brand is trash / garbage whatever you call it and then still will buy their upcoming releases lmao

You dudes all got good points. I understand why JB is testing the waters with us. And yeah, I still copped. And yeah, I am kind of disappointed in the shoe. But mostly disappointed in myself. Haha. Oh well. I still love Jordans. But I will never forget this. Smh

So many young minded, clueless "sneaker heads" is why the shoe game is so messed up now. So many of you 2013/2014 members saying the dumbest stuff and arguing the stupidest of points. You guys will accept anything. My point is very simple, this is not a $246 sneaker. If it wasn't going to have the features of the other 2, there should've been a price difference. Bred I's have Nike Air, no Jumpman on heel, and ok leather. Chicago I's have Jumpman on tongue, Jumpman on heel, and crap leather. They had a $30 price difference. You guys keep making stupid points without having the slightest knowledge on what you're arguing. THIS SHOE WAS A TEST SHOE!!! Now JB knows they can make a "premium" sneaker without premium materials and charge $225 and it'll sell. Further down the line they're going to introduce a true premium shoe with a $300 price tag. Why? Because we paid $225 for a basic Jordan V and shiny box.

And to the "non-intelligent" NTers saying it's as simple as if I don't like it, don't buy it...shut up. You're completely missing the entire point. 1, support of this sneaker enables JB to jack prices up sky high clear across the board meaning a shoe that I truly do want in the future is going to be priced ignorant high just because they can. There are no premium materials on holiday XI's yet the price keeps raising on a shoe that has a higher production run than any other retro. Why? Because regardless, they'll sell. Jordan Brand has no need to increase quality if the mentality is "don't like it, don't buy it." Realistically, those who actually like the shoes shouldn't have to spend that price either. 2, some of us enjoy the thrill of collecting an entire set of a shoe. This Lab series is marketed as a COLLECTOR SERIES. Some of us had dreams of collecting the entire set meaning to complete the set, you may end up purchasing a pair or two that you weren't exactly feeling per-say. But I may need that shoe to complete the series. When I pay the same price for a shoe that lacks the quality of it's predecessors, I have every right to be a lil' upset. Regardless if I don't like the shoe or not, my point is if I pay a premium price for a shoe, I expect a premium shoe. End of story.

Im cool with mine...no leather liner but comfortable as hell!

Them not having the leather liner and wax laces really disappointed me. Like Nike/JB said they'll still buy it, use cheaper materials here, and there.

You can't control the world.

just got my pair last night, you're absolutely right.

for $225, this is wack! metallic paint is sticky...upper feels cheap...the value is seriously lacking.
Hate to tell you bro, but your chances of getting heard by nike is slim, and most people including me (tbh) just take it, its just a card(my honest opinion). But im would encourage you to keep trying and hope you get something out of it..
I already sold my soul to nike the moment i bought retro+ releases...
You could def get a 20% discount code for dat.

I paid $225 for a "premium" collectors shoe. Only to be given leftover collector cards from a completely different shoe. No "premium" wax laces, no leather "premium" liner. Maybe i am the idiot for paying up then I guess. I just stings.
I understand bro. Hell. Regardless of the price premium or not, I still want all that I am supposed to get quality and all accessories. I miss some cards in some shoes which I can hamdle. Some may fall out, plant workers forgot to put in, etc. But how you not going to give me wax laces? That no leather liner is just a killer. It is part of the premium package and you take it away? I am sure it was to save money....yet the customer still paid the same. If they removed the leather liner, at least do it on a totally different lab series.....not a lab series where the last two had leather liners. I swear I think a nt member was correct. They had left over material from the 3lab5 infrared series and just made a new colorway it appears.
I can understand folks liking the shoe. But for those that are disappointed like me, it's justified. You expected the shoe to have the quality of the versions already owned and it did not. If folks just take EVERYTHING they throw at us without complaints, we'll keep getting cheaper materials because no one cares. They need to hear the disappointment whether it's a nice shoe or not. It should have been made exactly like the others. They're planning to remaster next year, we'll get poor quality now, and with the price increase next year for the quality we expected THIS year. Product specialist do lurk forums to see what the people want and what they're willing to accept. When a heap of people say they don't care, it's noted like "see it didn't cause too much of an uproar, move ahead with production on secondary materials".

Look at the WTL's for instance. They saw the big yearn/desire for the shoes. Joint came back at $250 instead of the previously posted $200. They take note of what we want.

That's why my purchases have gone way down. I don't buy all of their garbage quality or Nike's $295 LBJ 11 trash Elite's.

I am reading that many of you don't care about the liner. It's the equivalent of you liking the styling of a car. You love the way a certain car looks so you go to the dealership to get that car. You purchase the car for $24,600. I get the same car, same miles, different color. You and I pull off the lot and go to the gas station together to fill up. You peep inside of mine and see I have a navigation. You also see I have dual exhaust and my car is breathing heavy indicating I got a V8. You only have a V6. You assume my car must've cost more because I have more features but you are shocked when you see we paid the EXACT same price, not a penny different. Is your argument still "I don't care about those lil' things, I like the styling of the car."

Let the waxed laces represent the navigation and the V8 represent the liner. Scale too far off? Fine, replace the V8 with a moon roof. Since your car didn't have those features, do you feel the cars should've been priced the exact same?

Honestly, this is deeper than Jordan Brand being cheap. If you been here for awhile, you understand this is simply Jordan Brand seeing how far can they go to skimp out on details and charge the exact same price. This shoe is a simple decoy to help assist in future pricing. If the shoe sells out, success. Not caring about the liner is the reason we get crap shoes now. Oh wait, they're upping quality next year. LOL! Youngins got a lot to learn man...
Indeed. The laces & missing leather is like getting your grandmother's old soft couch as car seats instead, lol.

My disappointment came when I received the shoes, and place em together. If I knew they were like that, I would not have purchased just to send them back. I could care less about selling em, too much of a hassle to me. Jus give me my money back, and i'll also ask for a discount code for my trouble & disappointment, lol.

People thinking join dates have anything to do with age or knowledge is some funny stuff lol.

Also Pretty sure every person who buys shoes other than jordan brand and hyped releases knows nothing with a jordan symbol on it is priced because of quality, but priced as a collectors item/status piece and that nostalgia vision is as blurry as who knows what.

You can sing praise to what he company was 15-20 years ago all you want, but the truth of it all sadly is. THIS is jordan brand now, no one is waving a magic wand and taking people back, no one is getting hired saying 'guys lets spend more on this release to make people who already give us money happier'.

Let your dollar speak, return them, don't buy them from resllers so the ones looking for a quick buck return them

Let people who want them as the status symbol, collectors item, do that and let it go.

And this is exactly it. I have all of the lab series and was set on getting these.....until I learned and saw the differences. I can't give JB $225 for the same shoe with missing "premium" selling points. And you best believe jb gotta give me something really "premium" for that next lab series at $225. Materials were plush on those cigars and champagnes. Still didn't like the price tag, but 20% off ndc code made those an easy pill to swallow. As stated with a car example. No way you gonna charge me 40k with leather accessories....and still 40k without leather and accessories. Just won't happen. I take it most that didn't mind the differences don't own the other lab series so it doesn't really bother them. But, we the consumer must speak through our buying decisions
It is the only way to balance things.

Finally someone speaking with some logic and not just in here flapping their gums because they feel like talking.I agree with everything you said my man.

a price of 225 doesnt mean it's premium. a price of 170 doesnt even mean it's cheap! :)) all jordan retro shoes are overpriced imo. you pay for the name regardless.

im a bit jealous about those laces and liners tho. but i still like the shoe..
