AIR ZOOM MVP

Nope. I've been crossed over plenty (any player - especially wings - saying they haven't is simply lying to themselves or others) sprained ankles before, but never as bad severely as in the low cut MVP. And that was with ASOs on. I've never had to go to the doctor with an ankle injury, and will certainly NEVER EVER ball in a low again after my experience.

My Jordan Jumpman Pros, complete with a simple plastic midfoot plate, mid-cut, DHIP in the heel, and Zoom up front outperform the MVP hands down. I should have stuck with these, and not used the MVP for ball. Shame on me for trying to fix something that wasn't broken by balling in a low.
Dude you got yoked and sprained your ankle as a result of that. End of story. I've played heavy ball for years (wing) and that NEVER happenedto me or anybody I know. I've sprained my ankle many of times by falling on someones foot and never for a moment blamed my shoes....it's just part ofthe game.

As embarassing as it is, you sprained your ankle on a CROSSOVER (I can just imagine that..."severely"

)....the shoe had nothing to do with the outcome. I would understand if you werebashing a shoe because of its technical performance but your argument is flawed.

I shouldn't have even mentioned that. It's true the cut means nothing. Protection depends on lateral stability under your foot, not above it.

Let him express his opinion, it's not a big deal.

I don't agree with the reasoning, but we all have irrational fears and doubts. I've had a couple of bad experiences with vodka, so I won't takeshots of vodka no matter who I'm drinking with. Humans learn aversions based on our personal experiences.

I've tweaked my ankle in mids (don't think I have in lows) and the worst injury I've ever had happened during an indoor volleyball game, and I waswearing mids. But I still play in mids and lows, without any worries. I think that no matter what you are wearing, you are vulnerable as soon as you decide toplay. But no one is convincing me to pound vodka again, so he can do what he wants and we can't change his mind. It works both ways, his bad experiencewith lows certainly doesn't affect my mentality about lows, and apparently it doesn't affect a lot of other people as well.

the looked very comfy, and absolutely Guard position ballin shoes...
how does this performe compare to Kobe IVs?
does anybody have the experience?

in all honesty these are great balling shoes.
atleast for me... i was suspect at first
because of the forefoot only zoom
but played in them a couple times
and just love them...
keeping my IVs on ice for a little longer.
If I can I'm going to grab one more black/orange/white
or the grey/varsity blue colorway

it's simple odds.

if you would D up and stopped getting crossed so much the likelyhood of turning an ankle greatly reduces.

people always just seem to need a scapegoat.

grabbed a few of these up yesterday:

Though I do agree it's hardly ever the shoe's fault if you sprain an ankle, but if it should so happen that you do turn your ankle, the protectionprovided from a mid or high top shoe will be more likely to prevent a more severe sprain compared to a low cut shoe. It really makes a difference for me in myopinion, I feel more safe in hyperdunks over KB IV's per say and I could name at least 5 instances were hyperdunk's brilliant technology have preventmy ankle from spraining.

Ive played in low tops since the Jet Flights came out. I used to wear ankle braces with them, but after talking to an ankle and foot specialist, they swayed mefrom wearing them (ankle braces) all of the time. The more and more you wear them, the more reliant your body becomes of them. Same with mids, and when youthrow them oth together, the body become very reliant. Though im not saying 'dont wear ankle braces or mids' im saying that one should keep a rotationof different heights of shoes, keeping your body guessing. also, strengthening your ankles is a form of PRE-hab for playing (RE-hab before you get hurt, hencePRE). and yes, spraining ankle is VERY RARELY the shoes fault.

As a review for the MVPs. Absolutely wonderful in the comfort department. I ref in the blackouts and could literally wear them all day while running up anddown the court. very light, great support (from the technology, not height) but my only complaint is after playing with them in practice, the grip kind ofdisappointed me. i have three pairs, and all of them tend to not have the greatest grip. and i am playing in an arena where the court is cleaned everyday.again, great shoe, watch out for the grip right away, but after a few time, it does improve.

^Thanks for the insight... I started to wear - and continue to wear religiously - ASO ankle braces at the recomendation of a foot and ankle specialist.

I still blame the Zoom MVP - my first low ever - for my first doctor-certified severely sprained ankle.

I will never ball in lows again.

I never had a sprained ankle, but I had a injury in my foot recently which kept me out for 2 months. My podiatrist told me that the best way to strengthen yourlower legs and feet is to go barefoot when you are not playing or you can also buy yourself some vibram five fingers.

^Yes, it is flexible and has benefits for you, but nothing beats barefoot. WE ARE NOT BORN WITH SHOES!!!natural is the best solution imo.

nike frees = good
vibram fivefinger = better
barefoot = best
