It's easy to criticize nationalism and nation states. I personally don't think the alternative is a good idea at all.

So you cosign these fools accusing me and others of hating America, that something traumatic in my childhood probably caused it, that I should give up my citizenship and move back to the Caribbean justice because I speak about injustice?

I know you like red herring arguments yourself, but I want to know if you cosigning this nonsense

My comment was in refrence to the third reich being brought up. I want no parts of this real american vs fake american conversation. The fact that we can all **** on each other and debate and protest without governmemtal consequence is what makes america, america.

Not everything is about you

What is the definition of a true American because the standard some folks are describing is something more reflective of Putin's Russia than the America I know?

What makes you think America is necessary to yield that process?

Extreme nationalism was the reason why the world went to war in 1914 and 1939. There is a danger to the concept that is never acknowledged by those who want to use it as a means to an end. @The Natural Mystic posted a link to a veteran's comment essentially supporting Kaep's right to protest, and the discussion that ensued there was even more enlightening.

Vietnam veterans were shamed when they came back from there. The very people who protested against the Vietnam war, dodged, or escaped the draft are now, 40 years later, in a state of unconditional acceptance when it comes to military action and are criticizing someone for questioning the country just like they did back then.

I watch every NBA game begin with a military parade and I can't help but feel like I'm back in the dictatorship I grew up in.

Say what you want. I know these type of topics cause a lot of controversy. But I love reading everybody's responses. From both sides of the spectrum!

I don't know how many times I read a response, agree, nod and rep... then I read the next rebuttal and be like :wow: never thought about it like that.

I value Niketalk's intellectual discussions. We all may not see eye to eye, but our voices, what we say, what we write on a forum might just help us get there!

What does being adopted have to do with race relations though? I respect and sympathize with his upbringing, but it's sort of irrelevant here.

Ummm... Dude said Kaepernick never struggled. Are you biracial + adopted? If not, can't speak on the topic or experience, as Kaepernick can.

No one is asking for America to be exactly like the Western European countries.

But we should be willing to learn from them. Especially on what public good and services they guarantee to their citizens (*cough* healthcare)

I can't rep this post enough. This guy get it!

Oh this guy. The international interloper. Is your country so boring that you have to inject yourself in convos that literally have nothing to do with you.

Like get a hobby bro. It's getting sad at this point.
I've told both you and Ninja before on multiple occasions that I have a chronic debilitating illness which prevents me from working and all of my former hobbies that involve physical activity. But since you didn't get the memo apparently, let me explain it again.
My body is unable to properly utilize carnitine, an essential component in providing energy for the body's muscles. That translates to 24/7 chronic pain in both lower legs, muscle weakness and severe muscle cramps during the slightest bit of physical activity. Nothing I enjoy more than the good feeling of some cramps while taking a shower, or being utterly exhausted when I try to make my bed.
I'm still waiting on my DNA test results to confirm the diagnosis, but the specialists are fairly certain it's CPT-2 deficiency. On top of that, certain triggers aggravate the symptoms. Such triggers being physical activity (the more I move, the more pain and cramps), very hot/cold temperatures, ...
Strenuous physical activity also puts me at risk for kidney failure and rhabdomyolysis. I know it doesn't take much because my urine goes dark brown if I hang out with my friends for a few hours, regardless of how much water I drink. Sounds fun right? Perhaps we should change shoes and see how much time you spend on NT when you've had to give up all of your hobbies and are in pain every second of every day.
You don't gotta explain yourself to that ho , say whatever u want about wherever u want ...definitely don't got be worried about a dude like Rico

" tried to join the military...but I was denied" ...of course he was , but he wanna be the super patriot out chea

^^ I'm not even gonna bother.
He realized he messed up and is trying to pretend like it was a joke or something.

are we that Drax literal that you'd actually interpet a 80's professional jingle as da epitome of "what a Real American is" outside being facetious & da obvious chorus? ahh..some of ya some miserable bitter humans..

Never has a bigger lie ever been told on Niketalk. You are CONSTANTLY trying to push European style socialism on this country with your far left extremists talking points. Don't try and backtrack now. Your socialist card has been pulled many times. We know where you stand.

The key word you used is extreme. Of course extreme nationalism is scary. But so is the opposite. A borderless, one world society wouldn't be utopia or practical. Need a balance between the two.

Replacing nationalism with mass governmemt or religion will get you the same if not worse results that extreme nationalism will
