Destiny Thread (Bungie) - 9/9/14

I was just reading on Reddit and noticed a lot of people were upset about the Taken King expansion that is coming out, and they have a pretty good point.

$40 = Just the Expansion

$80 = Destiny + Dark Below + HoW + Taken King + SteelBook Case + Book & Letter from Cayde-6 +Cayde-6 personal notes + Collection of Relics and Artifcats + Strange Coin Replica + Early Access Weapons Pack + 3 Class Specific Emotes + 3 Armor Shaders + 3 Exotic Class Items with XP bonus

The fuss is that essentially for $80, new players will have everything, whereas we would of paid around $170 or so because we would have to buy the game all over again essentially if we want the exclusive stuff this time around. Even with us buying just the $40 expansion, we would have spent $135 I believe, but I get that because games always come out later with the DLCs that are already out for cheaper. The main issue, is the new bonus stuff that hasn't been out yet.

They are not selling the Taken King + exclusive items....yet....hopefully

New adopters will be saving money by buying all of the content on 1 disk, but who is gonna play with someone just now getting this game as they have soooooo much to learn and catch up on, its not even worth it to even play with them .....the social aspect of me playing with people near or at the same level as me was worth the price I paid to be an early adopter and have zero complaints about the money spent as I've only purchased 2-3 games since Destiny was released almost a year ago.
