Evan Turner is gonna end up one of the biggest draft busts of all time...

We saw it with JJ Redick when he first entered the league and now we're seeing it with ET. The difference between them is that one is a veteran that has found his role as a 3 point specialist and the other is a struggling rookie playing the same position as the best player on his team. JJ worked on his game to become better and is still in the league because of it whereas the verdict is still out on Turner.

He can be a decent player. He's not going to be a star. Can we let him finish a year before we write off his whole career?

Nice that you rewrite everything but fail to acknowledge that JJ worked on his game. He couldn't shoot the way he did at Duke when he first started playing. To ignore the fact he put in the work to remain in the league is stupid.

Evan Turner can partially thank Brandon Roy for causing him to go so high. It's crazy how much of an impact comparisons can have on a players draft stock.

One's I can think of recently...

Turner = Roy
Thabeet = Mutumbo
Rubio = Maravich
Oden = Ewing

A lot of those are very inaccurate and lazy comparisons, but you get the point.

So many people that were pessimistic on Turner, saying he didn't have the speed/explosiveness to succeed in the NBA, were told "Well that's what they said about Brandon Roy and look what happened to him"... yeah, sure. But just because Roy overcame that weakness why should it be assumed that Turner can?

(All that being said, I was interested in the Wolves getting Turner around draft time)

Turners chance comes when Iggy leaves... but for now he cant outplay Jodie meeks either

JJ busted his #$% to get off the bench and become a decent player. Hate him all you want but he's always had that kind of drive. I think he's a bit more of a 3 pt specialist though. Do you see that in ET? And there are a good amount of rookies who have played a lot better than Turner has this year.

He definitely worked on his game I'm not denying that at all. It also took him a few years to find success in the L people were calling him trash those first 3 years. Still outside of being a 3 point specialist what is he good for ? Turner has a lot of work to do if he wants to be successful in the L but it's his first year. I think that it's obvious that he doesn't have the potential to be a star but he can definitely find a niche as a role player in the league.
Sidenote, I still wouldn't take DMC at 2 if the draft was redone. He is such a headcase it's sad. Big !*% kid. A lot of talent but I don't think that it's worth the risk.

JJ plays exceptional defense for an off the bench two guard. He is one of the few I've seen chase Ray Allen around through screens with success.

These dudes don't know what they talking about, he always takes a while to adjust..he does settle for the jumper a little too much sometimes but the kid can flat out play. He's gonna be working in the offseason with herb magee on his J and besides that point he just does what we need him to do right now. There's no need for him to force the issue when we have 2 sixth man of the year candidates on our bench (which is the highest scoring in the league). He a decen defender now and an excellent rebounder and playmaker. He'll be fine
