But I'll be on the low sippin Asti Spumante
_____'z try to creep on the side of my Jeep
Stuck the heat through the window, Rocked they ___ to sleep
Over a 3-pack, It was a small thing really, Yeah
But keep lettin them small things slide it'll be ya failure
My virgin ears were not ready for these lyrics when I was 10.

Not during that time period...

I think Prodigy's catalog speaks for itself...

The Infamous
Hell On Earth
Murda Muzik
H.N.I.C.

He bodied SOO many verses on those alone... The throw in
"I Shot Ya Remix"

"Tres Leches"

That's who I thought this thread was gonna be about when I read the title...

I'll take Ghostface over all them tho. But that's just a personal preference...

Yall crazy. I never liked Prodigy but that aside. '95-'00

Hell I'd take DMX's two classics and his third great album over anything P dropped in that same time frame.

I bought (but mostly stole) every ill rap tape available in the 90's.

With all respect to Jigga.

Me and all my boys really didn't care much for him til about late 97, early 98, and even then he wasn't a top choice for us.

The kinda music that Mobb Deep put out in the 90's was the gospel of every kid and young man growing up in the streets back then.

Jay-Z really didn't fit into that mold at that time.

+ The Purple Tape. That's just as much Ghost's as it was Rae's. I'll take those 3 albums over P's any day...

I was wondering why no one mentioned Ghost... You could also included his work on OB4CL...

Even with that, I never thought Ghost was THAT nice... I'm a huge fan, but IMO he's not @+$@@@ with P

I came in here ready to diasgree...but I can't.

I don't care what P was or wasn't...he was that little dude that would still punk you. He was intergral on three classic album during that period, Ithink you could prolly only make a case for 3000 being in the same league during that period.

Nah.

Ghost was up there as one of the 90's rap heavyweights....#&$# that.

Skip to 2:29. Bodied the track...

P has always been my dude. He I really can't disagree but you also gotta recognize 3000 too as runner up at the very least.. I'm not for the generalThree Stacks slobbery but you can't tell me that lyrically this %+!$% was killin it at the time. Atliens and Aquemini are two of the greatest displays oflyricism ever.

Black Thought, Nas, DMX, they all deserve mention imo.
