I didn't believe it either until I looked it up hahaha. I didn't realize how few franchises there were. Mcdonalds only has like 15k restaurants in the U.S. There are over 40k Chinese restaurants apparently. Some reporter named Jennifer 8 Lee wrote a book about it. Don't know where she got her stats from but if it's I published book, imma believe it until someone proves it wrong
