IS KOBE BRYANT...OVERRATED?

Another big loss last night in a big game where Kobe shot horrible from the field and didn't get his teammates involved whatsoever.

I wouldn't call a game in January a big game, but he was def off his game yesterday. They still had a chance to win though.

Right now the Lakers have NO room for error champ as they are just about dead last in the Western Conference.  If the playoffs were to begin right now they wouldn't be in it, even if they continue to win and lose at the rate they are at currently, the Lakers still wouldn't make the playoffs.  Every game from here on out is big for the Lakers, especially against good teams.  That being said Kobe is going to have to do alot more if he wants to make the playoffs this year or if he just wants to be known as a volume scorer this year.

just because its Miami doesn't make it a big game, playing the Hornets or Bobcats right now is just as important.

The fault shouldn't really fall ALL on Kobe, the team has zero bench and has a lineup full of old players who can't play at a consistent high level. Dwight looks like he is running in mud and hasn't asserted himself as the defensive/rebounding specialist that he is b/c of his back issues, The talent is there but these guys are all past their prime.

With that said I'm glad they keep losing.

Give any other great guard 2 7 footers and an MVP point guard :smh:

Son has been getting exposed since papa Phil left.
Steve Nash is dead and a half years old. And he cannot make Pau and Dwight want to be great or work hard.. it has to be innate. He's the only one who wants to winl

PG has missed 2/3 of the season..

PF has missed 1/3 of the season.

Center has had back surgery, and is still trying to find himself.

A team that is short on bench... Who's backup PG has been out 2 months.. And lost their 6th man for the season.

Made a coaching change in the completely opposite direction of expertise...

Cohesion is not something this team would get easily.

And that's why they sit where they sit.. It would be foolish to say any other guard would be doing differently right now.

No HE is not. He's balling this year, however his team has not been stable and thus they lose. Still with all that going on their right outside the playoffs. Talk about "exposed"

Same dudes in here obviously dont watch the games, they just see that the lakers lost then automatically blame kobe since hes the face of the franchise

yeah u right - his legacy is down the drain

if it were all to end tomorrow kobe wouldn't be mentioned among the nba's top players of all time

he'd be just another guy who played a few years in the nba

If kobe is not considered top 5 or top 10 because of a sub par season by his team, then jordan is not the goat cause of his weak seasons in Washington.

Jordan wasnt playing with the Best C in the league, most skilled PF in the league, and a two time MVP PG. Kobes what 34/35? Jordan was 39/40 on the Wizards, having retired for 3 seasons prior. You compare the two as if they were in the exact same situation.

 so again its everyone else's fault right?

Of course he's having one of his most efficient seasons ever scoringwise. Kobe gonna Kobe. Kobe being Kobe isn't why they won ships. Kobe in a system where he was forced to pass to his bigs and move the ball is why Lakers won ships. (See Lakers record without Kobe career wise at almost 70%)

I keep forgetting young fans think shooting 38 times for 30 points while not getting your 2 7 footers involved is" doing your job" in the time where scoring 128 points is considered basketball. Its not.

Kobe could learn a lot from KD. Seems like he's becoming a more complete player than Kobe ever was. Watching Kobe play I can't tell if his Basketball IQ is low or his stubbornness just not allowing him to make the RIGHT basketball play.

Kobe is a top 15 player he is not a top 5 player. He's not even a top 3 Laker.

He has a pretty high IQ... .when he wants to, lol... I think its just stubborness

Don't get me wrong, he's one of the most talented perimeter players in league history but the MJ comparisons and the way he's ranked ahead of other greats like Magic and even Shaq....I don't see it.

People crucify players like Iverson and Carmelo when they pretty much have the same impact on the game and flaws as Kobe.

He has been blessed with one of the most dominant big men ever, the greatest coach ever and in the second half of his career, close to and All-Star starting lineup....take all that away and he's just another All-NBA player, not a top 10 payer ever IMO.

What makes him individually, that much greater than say....Paul Pierce?
just as overrated as his 81 point game
laugh.gif
Looking back on his career, I'm starting to realize that dude is wildly overrated. He has never elevated his teammates games and he makes some bonehead plays in the pursuit to get his.

Thoughts?
dude took a team to the finals with dfish and vladimir radmonivic starting...lol...

vladimir radmonivic was guarding paul pierce people...lmao...

haters gon hate tho.
Fisher has been in the Finals 8 times....and that team also had prime Lamar Odom, Pau Gasol and was coached by the best coach in history.

They still lost in 6 games and got blown by 39 in the close out game.

Iverson and Bron lead worse teams to the Finals and people are still quick to point out every flaw in their game and downplay those achievements.

Yet Kobe gets a pass.
Opinions of all players are expressed throughout every season, but they're just opinions... not facts.

This, like most of the detractors posts in here, is incredibly stupid
