the 40/40 club that he opened in vegas a few years ago lasted like 6 months. crazy.
makes sense though. have you been? i've only been to the ny one but it was weak.....doesn't even stand up to nyc spots, can't imagine it competing with the likes of tao, xs, etc.

nope, but the Lagasse sportsbook that replaced it is legit.

i just figured it would've lasted longer, even if it sucked, due to the amount of money that was invested into it.

No hate though. Smart brand extension I guess.

We'll see what comes of it. Seeing how Jay just closed the 40/40 in NY, I have my reservations about the staying power of these kinds of ventures.

If a non celeb made it, they probably would have made it because they knew what the %!$# they were doing (i.e. had some experience owning and operating a nightclub) and it very well may not have been a failure.

Real talk though, I think clubs are failures more often than not. Not TOO many stand the test of time, while many come and go. Which is what makes it a questionable venture to begin with.

Point is, this isn't what these guys do. It's just a toy to throw on their taxes to show the government some degree of loss.

Not necessarily an icon, but he might be the best dressed athlete in the major sports (Tom Brady is up there as well).
