Let's talk about Kobe's legacy......try your hardest to be objective...

Absolutely dreadful. No similarities whatsoever.

KB will be known as a guy who was the top dude in pretty much every aspect of the game
Dude is abusing almost everyone that gets put in front of him, he can hurt almost any dude for 40 consistently

Its still not even close tho

If Kobe was that good than he never would've been a bench player

couple other points

- If Anything
Jordan = Shaq & Pippen = Kobe

- Jordan MADE Pippen a 50 Greatest, without Jordan Pippen = Nobody
Just like without Lebron, Mo is not an all-star

- people saying Jordan had Pippen and Rodman, Rodman was only there for 3 chips
False.

Did you watch the 93-94 season? Pippen played at an MVP level that year and carried the Bulls to a 55-27 record.

SMH @ y'all dudes for always downplaying Scottie's greatness.

thank you...

if you listened to NT you would think Scottie Pippen was some scrub that MJ found off the street and turned into a HOFer

He'll be great...but the argument would always stand that he couldn't do it without Shaq should he not win another ring.

And when they look back at his career, he won't be the clear cut best during any season. (that's practically true now)

congratulations! you get the dumbest post of the week award!

you had always seemed like a relatively knowledgeable poster too.... is it hatred that is smothering your intelligence?

SMH at people thinking Pippen would've been "nobody" without Jordan...Yes he did carry the Bulls to the playoffs after Mike left the first time.
It's like dudes forget/didn't know that Pippen was a top 10 draft pick...

Anyways, some guys make it seem like if Kobe doesn't end up being better than Mike, then he fails.
That shouldn't be the case because Kobe is a heck of a player and a proven winner.

He may not be a media darling, but it surprises me how much hate this guy still gets.

probably everything has been mentioned

great player, won with shaq, etc

if he fails to win a chip, people will say in his best yrs, he couldnt get it done as the leader

Jordan was ESSENTIAL in molding Pippen into the player he became, if you think he would become 50 greatest on his own you are confused, there are MANY greatplayers that DIDN'T make the 50 greatest. I'm not saying he's a scrub, he is a very great player in his own right. But Pip will ALWAYS be MJ'ssidekick.

Much like Kobe unable to escape Shaq's shadow

and notice how one dares say LeBron > Michael...

but you do see Kobe > Michael...

This is how good Kobe is.

He is the villain of the NBA, a part that he both did and did not earn.

This is his destiny, and he'll fight bitterly to the very end to make himself into something else.

i think he is in the top 10. people in the future who didn't get a chance to watch him play would probably disagree based on his career averages and alwayshearing he only won his rings because of shaq. if he wins a ring this season he will def. be top 5 in my book. he is arguably one of the greatest scorers ever.

From my angle of top SG's ...

1) Michael Jordan
2) Kobe Bryant

People keep saying that he can't escape Shaq's shadow , that he fell off ... I don't see it . My dude scored 41 points tonight . Rellllaaaaaxxxxxx.

& you guys are acting like your opinions about Kobe matter anyway . His stats are already in the book ... he already has his 3 chocolately delicious rings, he has already done what you guys are hating on . He's going to be a Hall of Famer whether yall like it or not .

& for the people that are saying Kobe > Michael ... Kobe wouldn't even agree with that .

So if Kobe never gets a ring without Shaq, you don't think it won't haunt his dreams forever?

you named 6...

but that is quite ok... ill be making a Scottie Pippen appreciation thread shortly...

NT disgustly underrates what Pippen meant to those championship teams...

Kobe's legacy is already cemented, it's sad though that not many people appreciate what he has been doing. His life off the court has sadly alteredpeople's perceptions of what he has done on the court.

He's still the best player in the NBA.

The thing is I'm not under rating him though. He was a amazing defensive player, made All-NBA 3x, he's was great. But what other than that has he everachieved without Jordan?

people seem to forget that pip, not mj, was the finals mvp favouriteduring the 1998 nba finals.. until his back gave out on him.

Pip was all that. Let me repeat Pippen was one of the top small forwards to play the game in the past 20 years. It's obvious that many of you guysdidn't even watch the basketball during this era.

During this era, it was arguable who was better, Pippen or Grant Hill.

Kobe is carrying his team this playoffs, hitting big shot after big shot. At the end of the day he is a top 10 player ever period. I hope he wins the ship thisyear just to silence the haters.

So as you can see even with Shaq going ballistic in the Finals against Rik Smits, Todd McCollough, and Deke, young Kobe had comparable numbers and was doing the thing as well, Shaq deserved those MVPs but without Kobe who I doubt the Lakers would have even made it to the Finals, let alone win it all, and vice versa. You can't have one without the other. So if there's a poster with Shaq holding those 3 Finals MVP trophies, Kobe needs to be in the background as well

Was coming in here to post the exact thing. It seems like most people didnt watch the Lakers back then and just jump on the Kobe hate wagon here.Kobe was a crucial peice to those rings. Game winning shots, 4th quarter take overs when Shaq would foul out, guarding the best players on the floor. Kobestill did things that made you go

how in the world did he do that? and make the CRAZIEST shots ona nightly basis.

People are way too into the LeBron hype (which I understand, dude is a monster) but its to the point where now Kobe isnt getting props he deserves from thepast and in the present. You know those turn around fade away jumpers Kobe seems to make 2 or 3 times a game with a hand in his face? You think those are easy? Its hard to make that shot without anyone else in the gym with you and your playing your shadow let alone with a Ron Artest OR A LEBRON JAMES in your face.Dont get me wrong, LeBron is the face of this league now. But that torch that went from Magic to Michael to Kobe, is still in Kobe's hands. Let LeBron earnit first and just enjoy both of them playing basketball at the high level they play at because when they're gone, your going to wish they were still here.

Kobe being the SECOND best player for 9 years. That is borderlineretarded.

Take your hate glasses off and watch these, and then ask yourself if you have ever seen anything like what you just saw (besides MJ). The only TWO players toever play the game to do the things they do offensively and make it look so effortless and beautiful.

thats just one season (81 point season)

62 points in 3 quarters of play

9 straight 40 point games

LEFT HANDED fadeway 3 pointer...are you kidding me?
oh and by the way, 1 minute left, lakers down 2 in the 4th. 3 straight jumpers OVER lebron FTW

thats for the people who stay bringing dude up. thisdiscussion is about kobe.

So in my opinion, along with the 3 rings, those videos speak for Kobe's legacy all in it self.

People also forget that during the 2002-2003 season Analysts and sports writers across the board were calling Kobe the best overall player in the LEAGUE andhis name was in the MVP talks. Thats with Shaq on his team too.
