Update: 5 months later and we are one of 6 nominations for Ben Affleck and Matt Damon's Project Greenlight. Please help our short film win! Thank you so much!
All you have to do is give the video a thumbs up and we're good to go. thanks so much guys
Update: We didn't get through to the top 20 but now i'm extremely motivated to let them
know that I can do this. I may not have the film school background or the money to compete, but I really do have the passion to tell stories that can make a difference somehow... As much as I love making films on a near $0 budget, I am extremely curious with what I can do with a $1000. I am not really expecting NTers to support, because the moral support is already amazing! just please keep supporting the message of "never giving up" and fighting until you make it.

Hey guys,
Some of you may have seen my last post about my short film and just wanted to start fresh and have a place for me to keep NT updated since that last thread was all over the place
I've been on NT since 2006 but had to change usernames >.< Anyways, to keep everyone up to date.
A month ago I decided to write something for myself and my two siblings and when I found out about Ben Affleck and Matt Damon's TV Show Project Greenlight (winner directs a feature film with Matt and Ben ahhh), I decided to give it a try.
I made the film on a $30 budget with a Canon dslr (t3i) and a broken lens and showed a teaser on NT. Got some good feedback (dude that part sucked) and helped me out A LOT. Got the film done and it surprisingly has gone on to inspire thousands of people and was featured on Yahoo, Elite Daily, and a few other blogs. I was also on the news in the Philippines and that was just...i don't even have words to explain.
Here is the short film: (keep in mind, the audio is not great because on the day of the deadline, my laptop & backup hard drive crashed and had to reshoot 40% of this. Didn't have time for my friend to fix the voiceover
)
After that happened, I still didn't think that I would make it to the top 200 out of over 20,000 filmmakers in America.
But...somehow I got in..and here's my reaction to getting in. please don't laugh
So after that excitement died down, I was asked to make a 2-minute "funny" video giving them a little glimpse of who we are as a person and how much winning Project Greenlight would mean to us. Above all else, they wanted us to be ourselves. As much as I wanted to be the funniest and telling them "why I deserve this," I really just wanted to focus on being myself and showing how much this opportunity means to me.
Thank you all for the support and i'm just really excited to see where this will lead me. I've been through a lot in my life and to have had a moment where things were actually making sense was just amazing. If I can inspire just one person out there to say that I helped them keep going, then i'm done. I'd be SO HAPPY
