Official 2014 State of The Union Address

why are there no jobs?

because there are no customers.

why are there no customers?

because they have no money to spend.

why don't they have any money?

because the price of everything is steadily increasing and the wages are flat.

why not increase wages, which increases the money to spend, which makes more customers, which creates more jobs to handle the demand?

because companies would hire less and work with a smaller staff for fear of profit loss due to a payroll hike

back at point 1.

But the president bringing this up will further divide the country.... I'll never understand this "logic"

Republicans be like ...WHERE ARE THE JOBS????

tell em, hire more people... it'll dip into your $100M profit but will bring back a return in the long run

Republicans respond like..... WOAH WOOAHH... EASY THERE...YOU GOTTA CREATE THE JOBS

fixing America is real easy to hear everyone else tell it...

sounds just like fans that think they're GMs of their team

I think one of our problems is innovation and creativity.. we get taught worthless **** in school and then have no skills for the real world. skills that would allow you to create your own lane and make money for yourself vs sitting around waiting to work for someone else.

all wrong. government is creating the majority of the inflation now thats increasing costs all over the place. the producer then pushes the costs down the supply chain and eventually hits the consumer. but most people at this point think the price increases are because businessmen are being "greedy" which isnt the case. increasing the minimum wage will do the complete opposite of what its intended to do and would create more unemployment. not only that, big corporations have more capital to take the hit while small businesses will be squeezed by any small increase in costs (you see this with ACA) and if the small business owner feels like it cant make a profit, it will close down creating more unemployment and corporations have less competition.

so all the financial experts that agree with a min wage increase are wrong?

we'll just have to disagree.

yes cause its not their money thats why they agree with it.

Inflation is a cause of too much money supply.

They are printing too much money.

The more money printed, the less the money is worth.

Prices going up is reaction to printing more and more worthless money.

Why not enforce a $30 per hour minimum wage?

That's where minimum wage should be.

yet people think its okay to accrue thousands of dollar worth of student debt to make this wage smh.

if we are still under the gold/silver standard. minimum wage would be around 20-25 dollars.

".......Summarizing the studies earlier this year, Paul Krugman -- the Nobel Prize-winning economist -- declared: 'The great preponderance of the evidence... points to little if any negative effect of minimum wage increases on employment.'..."

you must be a fool to listen to paul krugman and his stupid nobel prize.

son is in a no win situation...

help person A, person B gets mad and wont cooperate to get job A done...

help person B, person A and C get mad and won't cooperate to job B done...

and so on and so on...

politics is way too complex to paint in black and white

society is way too complex to satisfy...

blame Obama for jobs?  it's his fault that these greedy bastard CEO's cutting corners any way they can

getting us out of a pointless war gets no love.... cz again, you can't satisfy this bratty *** America we live in

An that is where you are wrong. Skilled leaders and politicians are actually able to build consensus for their agenda. Yes there will always be some people that disagree, but they are still able to get things done. Obama is just not one of those leaders.

People like to complain about the Republicans never wanting to compromise, that is wholly Obama's fault. They smelled blood in the water his first year. He never did the proper glad handing and political diplomacy required to be successful in D.C. He made the horrible political calculation of running against Washington as an outsider and actually remaining an outsider. You can't change **** from the outside.

Black Jimmy Carter. If only brushed up on his Presidential history, many of these political pitfalls could have been avoided.

so critics call him out on a blog unrelated to what we're talking about and now all his posts are make believe?

Ok

which then discredits everyone else with a similar view on the min wage?

Shows he's a short sighted fool. Why shouldn't minimum wage be $60 an hour?

dude never even owned a business. stayed in the ivory tower his entire life and gets a nobel prize for it.

what does it say about all the other economists and universities that forecast the min wage increase as having no real negative impact on unemployment?

all fools?

they are paid hacks for a political party (left or right dont matter)

kinda like scientific "studies" on the pros and cons for weed except there is nothing scientific about economics.

any self respecting economist would tell you REAL minimum wage is ZERO
