those two beers are completely different

one is a brown ale and the other is a belgian white

Newcastle alternatives:  Rogue Hazelnut Brown (someone posted it in the first page) or Dogfish Head Brown Ale

Also, these "beer snob" type bars are the only place you'll find rare beers on tap, and they'll usually be served in their proper glasses and temperature, making the experience that much better.
