Official Kobae XI thread

Thought the same thing since the XI's have a very soccer-ish design.

But the Merc sock wouldn't have much function so it would be hard for Nike to sell it on a separate version of the shoe. It's not like he collars on the IX or X had much function either, but a sock just seems like a tougher sell

Yeah I agree w/ the lack of function -- no support or anything

I think would like how some slight compression and extension w/ a sock-like collar can make for a nice fit and feel, the merc type collar would seem to feel more natural than what was on the IX and X -- of course this is personal preference

The outsole is what makes the shape of the shoe look funny,pretty much the only problem I have with this shoe.

I'm a fan of lows and don't care much for the highs, but to me what would be cool would be sort of a mid w/ flyknit sock around the ankle sort of like the free mercurials 

I wouldn't have mind if the Kobe XI were these (Nike Court Flare).

Thanks for the info NYC757 but I'm totally confused now. If memory serves correctly it was announced during the release and subsequent interviews that there was only going to be one model for the XI? As in no elite high or EM low. Just the elite low (as seen during the launch). Is that not the case?

Agreed, bought the China's earlier this year and have only worn them casually a couple times but I think I'm gonna have to rock them on the court for one game when my men's league starts up next year f
