^ I thought about getting a ext hdd. but what good will it do if i backup the files, and then the hdd dies? Itll be like a double play. ill loose backed upfiles... or does it work differently?

Well, the whole point of a backup is having two places to store the same files (ie. you're main HD plus an external just for backups)
Remember don't rely solely on an external drive, they fail just as often as internal ones do.
I use a RAID setup, so if one of the four 500 GB drives fail, it auto recovers and stripes the other 3 drives with the same data.
If you're a newb in terms of RAID, there are some external RAID boxes, like the DROBO box.
Still playing around with my XTi. Anyone recommend a 11-18mm. AF/MF lens?
Edit* if one of the two drives fail, you still have your backup. If both fail at the same (will never happen in your lifetime) you're screwed.

sorry if my wording was confusing... basically, all the non-moving light sources (lamp, lights in the store across the street) were super-bright... and I delete the pic... I'll try it again tonight... I guess I should just shorten the exposure time... tried 15 sec. on my first attempt...
total noob here... please be gentile...this was exposed for 3 sec... how do I make the lights 'less bright'? thanks...
