Official "Red Dead Redemption" post...The GTA of the wild west

Thinking about returning this game, It's cool and all, but It's not really my thing after playing it for a bit.
 
ok, so my gf decided to buy me the game and i love the story mode.

i have never played online, so how do i get to doing that?

Rockstar Games is blowing out Red Dead Redemption by announcing four additional downloadable packs for the game set for release over the rest of the year.

The first pack, Legends and Killers, will be out this coming August and adds new multiplayer characters and weapons. The series of packs will culminated sometime this fall with the release of the Undead Nightmare Pack, which adds new single-player quests and multiplayer zombie characters. No release dates for the other two packs were provided.

Here's the breakdown of what you're getting:

Legends and Killers Pack
New active map locations, characters and more:

- Release date: beginning of August 2010;

- 9 new multiplayer map locations — more than doubling the amount of territories in the multiplayer competitive modes;

- 8 new multiplayer characters — play as characters from Red Dead Revolver;

- Introducing a new projectile weapon: the Tomahawk, with corresponding challenges for single-player and multiplayer gameplay;

- New achievements and trophies;

- Pricing: $9.99 (PlayStation Network), 800 Microsoft Points (Xbox LIVE).

Liars and Cheats Pack
New competitive modes, multiplayer mini-games in Free Roam, and more:

- Release date: TBC;

- Attack and Defend multiplayer competitive mode and challenges;

- New multiplayer horse races, complete with mounted combat;

- Play as the heroes and villains of Red Dead Redemption, as well as 8 additional multiplayer characters;

- Multiplayer versions of Liars Dice and Poker from the single-player game;

- Introducing a new weapon: the Explosive Rifle, with associated challenges available in single-player and multiplayer gameplay;

- New achievements and trophies;

- Pricing: $9.99 (PlayStation Network), 800 Microsoft Points (Xbox LIVE).

Anyone got any tips on how to complete Master Hunter Challenge 5: Kill Two Cougars with a Knife

I tried to immobilize them by shooting them in their legs but that doesn't seem to work.

Wait 'till you get to the grizzlies

Just let the cougar take out your horse and then try and get it from behind or from the front works too, they'll go down with one strike.

Hogtie someone, take them up into the forest or hills or wherever the animal you need to kill is, drop the person on the floor and wait til the animal strikes, then jump in for an easy kill from behind.
 
I can't seem to do those shooting bird challenges anymore. It'll say $0 every time and when I try to accept, it'll say 'challenge failed' immediately. Is it a glitch or is there a limit on how many times I can do those challenges?
 
Played the free co-op DLC last week, pretty dope..Way better than MP (can't get into it..)
 
i passed the story mode and online seemed to be fun at the beginning but it just got boring and repetitive. i traded for bad company 2
