Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

I'm a watch that video about the ending of Enemy later today.

I recommend not watching that explanation video previously posted. That person's interpretation is way off, imo.

This video gives a much clearer explanation:

**Sidenote**
Please don't watch this video if you haven't seen the movie "Enemy" yet.

It'll ruin the ending, which should be viewed w/o any prior knowledge of what's coming.

I absolutely HATED the ending of inglorious basterds. it just felt so damb sloppy compared to the rest of the movie.
most of the basterds die off because their plan doesn't work. They end up catching Waltz's character not because of outsmarting him or beating him in any way, but because he ******* turned himself in. Same with the reason Hitler dies from getting dude emptying a full AK clip into his face,, then the whole theatre explodes. it just seemed so tacky for a movie that was so masterfully executed the rest of the film.
I look at the theater scene as the 'happy ending' to the revenge porn..

but waltz's character is great ending to me.. he seems slimmy enough to try and pull everything thing he said and did at the end..

but then you have aldo doing exactly what he does, which makes the ending great to me.. waltz's thought he had everything lined up to sit pretty

To me there's a difference between a movies ending and the climax

Shooting hitler is a climax while Cutting up waltz is the ending

Not Quite.

Arguably one of the greatest endings in recent film history.
You guys are convincing me to watch this movie. What's a good way to access Netflix from another region? :nerd:

Just saw It Follows...........I was blown away. Probably the best "horror" film since The Ring. The cinematography is on some next level **** and the music is perfect. The wide angle panning shots and the 360 continuous filming scenes......stunning. Thanks for recommending NT.

Sidenote: What is the best horror genre film since 2000? I mean slim pickings jeeze. A Saw movie? Cabin in the Woods? The Ring? 28 days later?

i didnt think it was tacky at all. Landa was devious AF and an opportunist. he knew it was about to be a wrap for the nazis and wanted to see what he could squeeze out of the us army. dude wasnt a soldier he was administration; he was trying to save his own skin. what would have been tacky to me is if they murked hitler without a hitch and everybody goes home happy. that last 30 mins. or so you have no idea if Landa/Third Reich or Shosh/the basterds, who are working completely independently, are gonna come out on top; that suspense was amazing to me. QT kind of subverted the typical AMERICA **** YEAH LETS GET THOSE MOTHERF***** action film ending. yeah there's the swastika in the forehead but **** pretty much everybody you were rooting for is dead. i loved it but to each his own

Star Wars is already at 50 million, and doesn't release for another 27 days.

All time box office champ by Valentine's day. 8-9 weeks, tops. Bout a hundred million a week, and I might be shorting it.

The X-mas time release time is pretty brilliant. Won't be any competition whatsoever after about the second week of January. Wouldn't be surprised to see SW stay in theaters until like May -- unless Disney wants to take it out of the theaters to work on the DVD.

Underrated holiday movie - Deck the Halls with Broderick and DeVito. Mainly on the strength of a non-anorexic Kristen Chenoweth, Alia Shawkat and Hurley from Lost all being in it.

Two times? **** I might it watch it two times the day it comes out. I'm going to be seeing this **** in theaters at least 4 times. Gotta be more than the Dark Knight.

I honestly wonder if I reach double digits.

I don't "expect" to, but it's in play.

But multiple times, easy, just cuz there's multiple people I'll go see it with, just cuz.

Just finished watching Enemy and oh my..that was incredible. Have to let it sink in

As somebody in a relationship, it hit home. I had to watch the YT video posted to get a better understanding but that last scene was crazy accurate to what I believed was the case. Movie was great. Appreciate the recommendation. Damn that's gonna sit with me for awhile man

Jessica Jones, Episode 1
-The intro is weird... reminds me of Season 2 True Detective. Also, the intro reminded me I need to finish season 2 of True Detective... is it worth finishing guys?

-back to the show.... opening monologue with a jazzy sax in the background while two unassuming people bang it out on the streets of Hell's Kitchen, what a time to be alive... sure why not, Jane's death was actually faked by Walt, out of the kindness of his heart. He sent her far away from New Mexico and to NY and thus begins the adventures of AKA Jessica Jones; well played Jane.

-"Is being drunk an excuse?" tbh I wish this was a socially acceptable answer. The world would be so different if it was.

-lens flare

-variant Claire Underwood

-wait is that actually Claire Underwood?

-running out of toilet paper is the worst. I once had to use kitchen paper towels FML

-Jim Beam in to a canteen.... I once snuck vodka in a liter water bottle and a separate carton of OJ into Disneyland and then had to drive out to LB that night, oh to be young, reckless, and..... feels like a life time ago
tired.gif

-is super jumping Jessica Jones' superpower?

-this show is fat shaming already smh

-homeless the Weeknd

-this case is boring me, track athlete blah blah

-face licking?!?

-this show is so naughty..... monkeycovingeyes.emoji

-OH BOY! Luke Cage getting it in real ******* quick! Stickman, stickman, stickman, whoo

-Jesse rolling in his grave right now man... Luke Cage breaking one off
eek.gif

-ruh roh, mysterious asian shop cliche... epic case of deja vu!

-who the hell is this mysterious figure and what did he make Jessica do?!?!

-I'm gonna get a seizure from this hotel hallway scene

-this show is ******* scary

-WHAT THE HELL!!!!! I DID NOT SEE THAT COMING!!! CALL IN THE AVENGERS OR SOMETHING PLS
this show is tough to watch and try to post things about.... idk if I'm doing it again
