Wow, so much anger over a children's song

Anyways, I think Happy is a great song and it can be in contention for best song the last 24 years.

Happy is a catchy little tune and that's pretty much it. It isn't a GREAT song.

Ya'll are too much comparing Happy to a iconic decade defining song like Hey Ya!

Hey Ya! is a deep record. Lyrically it's about the dysfunctional structure of relationships/marriage in a generation where the youth were moving away from the Church and family values and the divorce rate was at the highest it's ever been.........all over an infectious danceable track that nobody could avoid. To make a socially aware song about real issues in America, disguised under a very danceable pop track, it's pure genius. It's similar to what John Lennon would do, make socially conscious music accessible through crowd pleasing melodies and chords. Done elegantly and with tact.

Happy? That's a song about being Happy. Kids are happy. That's why kids like it. Made for a Animated Film. It's catch and cool for what it is. But ya'll are silly for even comparing it to Hey Ya. Hey Ya was the song of the 00's. and defined that decade Happy isn't even the song of 2014.
