Same Sex Marriage Is The Law Of the Land

Funny supporters preach live & let live but quick to chastise anyone with a differing opinion. I just wanna know what dog do talk "straight" males have in this fight. Outside of this issue being intrusive I really could care less. Why is there this attitude that it's mandatory to accept the issue among dudes that supposedly aren't even really affected by it.

So I have a question regarding this train of thought. If you're going with the "there could be a god so I better subscribe just in case" then which god are you going to choose? There have been millions of deities. How do you know which one to choose? If you chose wrong then what?

there is no in case with me...i said NON-believers should have at least some train of thought preparing for the after-life...all this means is have an open mind to the fact that there is or might be a god...

you have to do your own research...certain religions have obvious flaws...

I'm muslim btw, and i rather not even get into all that....its how much you care about the after life...if you don't and have zero worries then you will live like a champ on this planet and on this earth...but to those that have an idea that there is good and bad, and that we will be judged on the merits of our actions after death, then we have a more stressful life, only because we have certain guilt we fight due to our constant indulgences of vices that plague this society...

me? i choose to believe that this complex world wasn't created out of random chance...i don't have the balls to gamble on chance and science, because there is so many small things in this life we don't even notice and take for granted, and to think it just got there and evolved is not something i can bet my life on...

so when i say insurance, i mean more to say logic of the situation, to me it is more logical to believe that there is a great being who has a greater purpose, that you and I cannot conceptualize or understand, at some point you have to take a leap of faith, because you cannot prove it to the eye.
Funny supporters preach live & let live but quick to chastise anyone with a differing opinion.
When it's a harmful opinion, 'Live and let live' goes out the window.

If your opinion is that cheesecake trumps ice cream, no one should say anything. Live and let live.

When your opinion is that blondes are more attractive to you than brunettes, no one should say anything. Live and let live.

When your opinion is that gay people are morally corrupt and will burn in your religion's pit of fire because your religion's god deemed then unholy, EVERYONE should collectively hush that noise.
I just wanna know what dog do talk "straight" males have in this fight.
I'm straight.

The dog I have in this fight is that I couldn't stand seeing someone get treated lesser than me.

For example, I have a child. If I saw another child get molly-whopped by some other kids, I'm not going to get back on my phone like "Welp, my kid's over there on the swing, so we're all good."

Nah, I'm stepping in.

Same reason I'm white as hell but have always been a voice against covert, institutionalized racism.

And since I've already mentioned being straight but supporting gay rights and being white and speaking out against racism, I'll also throw in that I'm a male and an active voice in feminist issues.

"Not my problem" has NEVER been my attitude.

My boy always tells me this. I better believe, just in case.

Well, all knowing God knows I don't believe, so how can I "fake" believe just to be safe? He always knows I don't believe.

You can't FORCE yourself to believe in anything, so how can you tell someone, "Hey, you should just believe just in case."

Makes ZERO sense

Funny I always think this way when I think something horrible

I'm like let me get this out my head but then I say what's the point because God can read my mind

I want all my friends, including gay ones, to have the same rights as me and to enjoy the same privileges I do.

Since my future kid has a 1 in 33 chance of not being straight, I want him or her to be free to love any man or woman s/he pleases.

I dont like the government telling me who I can and cant be with even if I aint gay anyway.

I believe in separation of church and state.

I dont want religious clowns to force their agenda on anyone. I dont want that poison anywhere near me.

I have something called empathy. I dont have to be cut from the same cloth to see that chastising people isnt good in any way. I dont do heroin yet i dont think a heroin addict should be given an F on his record to make his life irreparably terrible.

Love the XVIIs :smokin

And I was just going to ask BLASTER "Do you know ANY non-white people who like ska?", but then I remembered that some people don't even know what ska is.
Ska=?
See?

Ska is a type of music. I went through a phase, especially No Doubt, Mighty Bosstones, Less Than Jake, and Sublime.

It's a music genre but the only Ska fans I've known were all white . I don't mind it though, liked a few ska bands when I was younger.

You know that it originated in Jamaica as their take on American R&B and Jazz right?

It's been stated before but I'll say it too, as a straight male my dog in the fight was that I wanted to see equal rights and equal access for all.

I listened to No Doubt growing up.....didn't know they were classified as ska though lol

Yo, in a thread about homosexuality, admitting you like Less Than Jake is your coming out of the closet. How did your family take it? Do they still talk to you?

Yea I read about and knew its origins from a while back but that whole ska-punk wave in the 90's just straight up jacked the genre name

I used to listen to most of those bands listed growing up  :smokin

But if I were going to name check the groups that got me into ska it wouldn't be MMB, LTJ, ND.

It'd be The Wailing Wailers, Operation Ivy, The Specials, Madness and stuff like that.
