But if I were going to name check the groups that got me into ska it wouldn't be MMB, LTJ, ND.

It'd be The Wailing Wailers, Operation Ivy, The Specials, Madness and stuff like that.
Operation Ivy :smokin

Specials :smokin
Tombout ska in a gay thread on NT.

I don't think we've talked about ska on NT in like...

... actually, I think this is the first time.

I find your love for Less Than Jake to be deviant. I can't help it. As much as I think your lifestyle is abhorrent, I gotta let you cook.

Everyone who knows of ska knows this, I'm pretty sure. It's like dropping knowledge along the lines of "You know porn is fake, right? No one really delivers pizza like that."
The Wailing Wailers.

Only Ska-ish type music I like is Operation Ivy. Aside from that, most of it is booboo.

Back to the topic at hand though, the first marriage license issued in Louisiana came from Jefferson Parish, just across the river from New Orleans, turns out I know the 2 women that it's been issued to since they're deputy clerks at the court, they've been together for 38 years through thick and thin and I'm happy to see that they can finally legalize what they've been living for years.
Sublime is still perfect on a nice sunny summer day tho
Only thing I've got left from that phase.

Sublime will be in the mix till Christ returns. :smokin

See this is the side of this issue that should resonate with people, still together after almost 40 years and now they can finally make it official :smokin. I can never be against the expansion of basic rights.

Not gonna front like I'm a super fan like that but they do stay in rotation during the summer. Love hearing people cover their **** out at bars and stuff like that. I can't see myself ever not listening to them either. As of rn I only have the self titled Sublime album on my itunes. I've heard a lot of other things but I need more. I know I'm ******* up not having 40oz to Freedom

I still listen to Sublime on a weekly basis. Still disappointed I didnt get to see them live. Sublime with Rome doesnt count. Mix in some Slightly Stoopid and Tribal Seeds as well.

Congrats to them. Too many stories like this it's just crazy, I am happy this has finally become legal nation wide.

Absolutely the same, to me.

"Knock, knock."
"Who's there?"
"Jesus. Let me into your life."
"Ummm... why?"
"To save you."
"Oh no! Save me from what?"
"From what I'm going to do if you don't let me in."

Replace Jesus with 'boyfriend' and that's an abusive relationship.
wee-bey

That's beautiful.

Love and let love.

What if when I die I find out that the devil runs the afterlife? Should I go out and kill a bunch of people just in cause my life after death is determined by how bad I am? It's a possibility

I think the bolded text nails it.

I am a strong believer in God and a Christian. I do not support gay marriage, because of what it says in The Bible - That God created marriage (my belief) for man and woman and nothing else. In addition to not support gay marriage, I don't support things in the same category (divorce, adultery, etc.)

Now, it gets very very very hard when looking at gay marriage. I see being gay as a sin that people are born with and they choose to fall-in to that sin. Similar to pornography addiction, alcohol addiction, etc. Most importantly, The Bible views all sins the same. So, although I do not agree with it or support it (just like I don't agree with pornography, alcohol addiction, etc.) ....I am not better than those that are gay. I sin just like everyone else does. Who am I to say you can't do this/that if I am doing certain things that are viewed in the same light (since all sins are the same) as this/that?

It's tough. So, if it was up to me, marriage would be man and woman. But, it's not up to me to judge.
But what's wrong with picking and choosing what parts apply to you as a Christian?

Because people don't literally EVERYDAY.

I don't mind those that are selective Christians. Just be real with it.

People always refer to the bible with gay marriage but skip over the other stuff that's super prevalent today, like divorce, premarital sex, and adultery...

And then you said people are born into sin, right? So if a baby is born straight, he's sin free but the gay baby isn't? That's totally unfair.

Not saying this is about religious inconsistencies... I'm just saying what's wrong with being a selective Christian?

As long as you're not harming others, killing people, or being a universal doosh, then be selective, famb.
Been traveling, haven't been able to hop onto NT until now.

All great questions...

So, if I am understanding correctly - when you say "selective Christian" ...you mean basically picking and choosing stuff out of the Bible that I do/don't believe in and want to follow? That doesn't seem very fair.

So, I could be against gay marriage, but go out until 3 AM every night, get drunk/high, take home a girl and commit adultery because I think that's okay? Doesn't seem right man. I think when you believe and want to follow the Word, you have to follow all of it, you can't be unfair and pick and choose what you do and don't want to follow. Divorce, premarital sex, adultery, drugs, pornography, lust, boasting is all sin...

Now, many non-believers/apologists will bring up Leviticus and the whole eating pork thing. But, later in the Bible, in Mark 7:19, Jesus declares these foods clean.

You mention being born into sin and that babies that are born straight aren't born into sin, but those that are born gay are born into sin. NOT what I am saying, at all. EVERYONE is born into sin. Straight, gay, bi, white, black, boy, girl, etc. Everyone's sin that they struggle with is different. This goes back to me saying all sin is equal...so, although I don't agree with the ruling...who am I to judge homosexuals if I am sinning just like they are. What I will do is pray for them - just like I pray for other sinners (including myself).
