The NBA Draft Thread

I respect Detroit for trying to win now but that's counter productive to their organization

No matter who they get in that trade it won't be nearly enough to even begin to compete with Cleveland or even probably the other east teams

Need to stay steady and rebuild through the draft and try to get lucky on a pick

KCP, Stan and Drummond ARE the rebuild

It aint enough, we know that. But a 19y/o aint sniffing on that squad

Reggie should be moved but to who and for what IDK

Drummond would be the trade bait in your rebuilding your rebuild.

And that's fine, but adding a veteran for a lotto pick might not be worth it. Keep building up the youngsters and wait the lebron era out. Give it a few years... who knows what the east looks like after he's on the downward

They are also opening a new arena so they have to have pressure to have a competitive product on the floor.

similar to the place Brooklyn was :smh:

Yeah that's tough. well who knows maybe someone will give up too much and it'll benefit you guys

Tough to see a great return on that tbh though

Just a thought, but is Brandon knight fair value? Gotta get rid of Reggie

Sources: Lonzo Ball to work out for Lakers on June 9

Lonzo Ball will work out for the Los Angeles Lakers on June 9, the first step toward possibly becoming the No. 2 overall pick in the 2017 NBA draft, league sources told The Vertical.

Ball, 19, has scheduled his visit with his hometown team to meet with the front office and coaches and participate in an individual workout. Ball had always planned to conduct only a private individual workout because of his success in his lone season at UCLA and never considered a one-on-one workout against another top prospect, league sources said.

The Lakers’ front office worked with Ball’s agent, Harrison Gaines, to finalize the workout details. The Lakers are the only pre-draft workout scheduled for Ball as of now, but he could add one or two meetings with teams near the top of the draft, league sources said.

Ball led the Bruins to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA tournament and has become a frontrunner to be the Lakers’ selection at No. 2. The Lakers plan to work out other top prospects over the next two weeks, including Kentucky’s De’Aaron Fox and N.C. State’s Dennis Smith.

For the Lakers, improving the roster’s culture and winning pedigree have been emphasis points during the pre-draft process. Ball helped improve the Bruins from a 15-17 record in 2015-16 to 31-5 this past season.

Ball averaged 14.6 points, 7.7 assists, 6.1 rebounds and 1.9 steals in 33 regular-season games for UCLA and set the school’s single-season assist record with 274. He committed to the Bruins after starring at Chino Hills High School.

Here is an interesting comment I found in Bleacherreport:

"Call me crazy but would the Sixers consider trading the third pick to the Wolves for Zach Lavine and the sixth pick? Lavine is expected to recover and gives them someone to space the floor. Then they can take the best player available at six. The Wolves get Josh Jackson which gives them a wing defender with an aggressive mentality and a huge upside. It also frees the Wolves financially to sign Towns and Wiggins."

I'd imagine the Sixers to add another piece but that's intriguing...

They definitely are not trading 6 and Lavine who was scoring 20+ PPG before he got hurt just for 3. Isaac fits like a glove for what that team needs at the 4.

Bruh Avery justttttttttttt showed out and you trying to ship him for #12, GROSS.

Jordan Clarkson can get you #12 :nerd:

Avery should be damn near untouchable

Edit: He deserves that before Isaiah's 200+ mill contract

We are going to be drafting Fultz, and Avery Bradley (26), Isaiah Thomas (28), and Marcus Smart (23) are all free agents next summer. Someone needs to go. I love AB, but he is a small guard that is a 3 and D player but can't create any offense. IT is one of the better offensive players in the league. Celts brass is high on Smart and he fits the timeline of the younger talent (Fultz/Brown) and Rozier has shown flashes of being someone that can be similar to AB in a few years.

Jordan Clarkson can get a #12?? LMAOOOOOOO
