the plastic ring broke off and instead of buying another one, maybe possibly upgrade? budget up to $500 or so

people get your lenses before the price jumps even higher...i was thinking of buying the brick at the end of this week...checked price yesterday...$1300. check price today $1800!! FML...

^^^I saw that on Nikon Rumors because of the factories in Japan. I am sure the prices will settle in the long run. Just sucks for people that want to buy lenses now. And mark 3 being pushed back to October or so. That sucks!
