Thumb Chip Fracture

I was playing basketball on Thursday when I tried to deflect a pass, but the ball ended up going straight into my left thumb. I thought it was just a regular jam but it felt worse when I got home. So I set up an appointment to get it checked out the next day, and an x-ray showed that it was a RCL strain w/ a chip fracture. I went home with a thumb splint and got scheduled for an ortho appointment next Wed.

Has anyone had a similar injury? If so, how long did it take to heal?

I've had chip fractures on both my middle fingers and my ring fingers on BOTH hands in the span of 2 years :smh:  . As they say, everybody heals differently so i can't really give you a timetable, but one thing i recommend is when you feel comfortable enough take the splint off, make sure to constantly flex/bend your finger(or thumb) to get/keep the blood flowing and keep it loose. I was back on the court in no time :pimp:

Dang, that sucks bro :\. But good to know you healed quickly. I do loosen the splint every now and then so my thumb can have room to wiggle
