What if

Time travel is invented in the near future like 10-20 years from now, and all the ufo sightings and weird events were from people visiting from the future. Scenario lets say a couple years ago you thought you saw yourself in your room one night going through your stuff, and you get really scared. Then in the future you are given access to the time machine and you realize what you saw back then was what you were doing now, then you decide no to do it remembering all the fear and grief it caused you. Did it ever really happen then?

Also if you go and kill yourself in the future, and then go back to your regular time and when the time comes when you know your past self is gonna kill you, and you prepare and then kill him when did you really die?

Slippery slope my friend.
Your best scenario is that your memory of the event fades like Marty McFly's family in that polaroid.
Your worst scenario would have your very existence disappear. That fear and grief that you experienced sent you down this path, but if you remove it, who knows what would have happened. You could have gone about your day and gotten hit by a bus had you not scene yourself and freaked out.

you cant just disappear, if you did die in the past because of what you didnt do in the future, and you went back to the future or your current time would you still be dead, I feel like because of all the scenarios that time is just linear and there is no way of time travel

that would not even happen. when you kill yourself in the future, that would change everything in your path of life (meaning your current self would no longer follow your future's path).

I don't know. But when time future happens, I'll probably try to make sense of it by smoking copious amounts of weed.

what if i go back in time to just before i got the time machine would that mean i will be in a time loop of sorts.
