Why isn't anyone talking about this?: NAACP Colorado office bombed

Ain't nobody got time for Colorado Springs. Paris is one of the most popular cities in the world. Of course they're going to get more press.

Soo the question has to be asked; What makes one story more important than another??

Ya'll gotta stop making it easy for these lames to get something to run with with **** like this. Dudes had nothing to say till they saw this and started salivating about the direction they could now move the thread.

One, he was already in here.

Was it really me, or was it when yall started saying it wasnt getting proper coverage?

I understand what you saying, but sometimes things happen and we jump the gun and start making emotional statements, thats wayy more fuel than asking obvious questions.

a terrorist attack committed on American soil seems like a big deal to me

Facts

Granted that both incidents are terrorist attacks in each of their own way, you would think that America would be more concerned with an attack that was done on American soil...

If there are no casualties than it really doesn't become a big story, unless it's local.

But isn't a terrorist attack still a terrorist attack? Regardless of the extremity? Hell, even a FAILED attack gets more shine than the NAACP situation. When they caught son with a bomb in his shoe on a plane, they made a big deal out if it for a month. Did anyone get hurt in that situation?

People who are not of color aren't talking about it b/c mostly they don't care. People of color aren't talking about it b/c the NAACP has been doing very little to "advance" our causes for a long time. I hope we don't continue to see any violence of this nature but the NAACP as an institution is expendable.

and the "underwear bomber" as well...

— Dec. 25, 2009: The so-called "underwear bomber," Nigerian Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, is subdued by passengers and crew after trying to blow up an airliner heading from Paris to Detroit using explosives hidden in his undergarments. He's sentenced to life in prison.

— Jan. 17, 2011: A backpack bomb is placed along a Martin Luther King Day parade route in Spokane, Wash., meant to kill and injure participants in a civil rights march, but is found and disabled before it can explode. White supremacist Kevin Harpham is convicted and sentenced to 32 years in federal prison.

— May 1, 2010: Pakistani immigrant Faisal Shahzad leaves an explosives-laden SUV in New York's Times Square, hoping to detonate it on a busy night. Street vendors spot smoke coming from the vehicle and the bomb is disabled. Shahzad is arrested as he tries to leave the country and is sentenced to life in prison.

a little off topic but check the sentencing...

After the NAACP defended Donald Sterling, IDC about them. I'm not "colored" either, so I don't know who they're representing.
HOPEFULLY nobody was injured.

   3 pages in i already see that suit wearing skull headed avitar guy lurking in the rafters. him and a couple others seek these threads on rustle missions gents, don't compromise your jimmies.

Disgusting. Hope they catch the idiot that did this and throw the book at him.
Until then, all balding, middle-aged White men in the area should be advised to remain at home.

You wouldn't want to fit the description of a terrorist bomber.

Though Colorado has legalized the private, personal use of marijuana, citizens may not carry more than one ounce and may not consume it openly or publicly.  Any balding, White male carrying more than one ounce may feel the urge to run if approached by police officers.  DO NOT RUN.  You will be summarily executed for your own safety and left to decompose in the street.  Even if asked to produce identification, do not reach into your pocket or waistband.  Keep your hands and face in view at all times while in public.

No matter how aggressively you might be treated by police officers, remain calm and submissive at all times.  Remember, as long as you've done nothing wrong, you have nothing to worry about.  You'll just be temporarily detained and lightly abused from time to time to preserve the public peace.

If you, as a balding White man of a certain age, are resentful of the additional scrutiny and suspicion to which you and those "like you" have been subjected, perhaps you should direct your outrage at your own community.  The "profile" exists for a reason, after all.

Did I forget anything?

I think it's fair to say that if EVERYONE were so profiled by law enforcement, there would be no more profiling.

As it stands, you could put a burning cross on a family's lawn and your religion will not be called into question for it.  (At worst, you'd be referred to as an extremist whose views pervert, rather than exemplify, your religion.)

If the assumptions that you make in this case - that it's the work of a lone maniac who no more represents balding, White males than he does Americans or Coloradans in general, were applied to other "terrorist" acts - or to criminal acts perpetrated by people of color - our nation's system of justice would be a lot more just.

 @ the clowns being ghost in here. Limited to emoticon posts and one word replies.

I guess not showing up is better than the excuse of they don't reply to Meth cuz he's a mod  :smh: Cowards.

Not surprised this isn't getting more coverage though.

Soo the question has to be asked; What makes one story more important than another??

Deaths.

There were no casualties so media outlets aren't really going to focus on this story. Combine the lack of casualties with the fact there was another terrorist attack today that killed 12 and it's going to be grossly overshadowed by that headline.

To quote Don Henley

"It's interesting when people die"

Did the police find and choke dude to death yet? Or is that just reserved for serious **** like cigarettes?

Profiling is not about racism. It's about statistics and probability. If blacks commit more crimes than any other race, they are going to be stopped more than any other race.
