btw if you run - regardless of it's 1 or 2 miles - you're a real runner. some might run a tremendous amount of miles more than you, but don't discredit yourself on account of that. and i know what you mean, but regardless, there's no boundary that separates real runners from not so real runners.
doubt it's the wildhorse - it was always the burliest of the nike trail models and meant for long distance - originally it was the UTMB shoe for david laney, tim tollefson, and zach miller - so saying this model is fast AF is the antithesis.
it might be a brand new model meant to replace the...
thing i'm most curious about the zegama is the weight. the peg, the wildhorse, and kiger all tip the scales over 10oz for a size 10.5, so i'm praying the zegama comes in around 9oz.
to be fair, the peg trail has served as a road to trail hybrid, so it's the one nike trail model that isn't designed to have outstanding traction. but totally agree - the wildhorse 8 and kiger 9 are due for complete revamps and hoping they address that issue.

hear me out. kilian jornet's favorite race is zegama.
kilian has also left longtime sponsor salomon.
can you imagine some insane world where nike signed kilian and the zoomX zegama will be his footwear of choice at the 2022 race?
right there with ya - so far they've screwed the pooch with all the peg trail 3 colorways.
i actually got the women's pale pink + aluminum CW which i love. i mean good luck keeping it clean, but whatevs.
lol facts
just within the nike trail lineup, the peg trail 3 has the "worst" traction since it's the most door to trail of the three. but the gore-tex version is almost an oxymoron in this case - the shoe only performs well on dry, non-technical terrain, which is opposite of what this shoe is...
