Ask a former NIKE Basketball employee...

If I understand you, then we are at the stalemate I mentioned...Nike owns the designs (worthless without the Jumpman) and MJ owns the Jumpman (worthless without the design). Jordan can design the future with another company....Nike can brand the future with another stud. Stalemate. They are...

Ask a former NIKE Basketball employee...

I couldn't find any design patents assigned to Jordan. Here is a familiar look from Avar : http://tinyurl.com/csb4swu If Jordan has rights to the designs, it is via a secondary contract/agreement. It is interesting to note that design patents expire after 14 years...

Ask a former NIKE Basketball employee...

Does MJ own the rights to his name/brand and the designs? Or just his brand. I think they go hand in hand...what good is a retro design without the jumpman on it. But if each party (NIke and MJ) control the individual pieces, then their is a stalemate.

Ask a former NIKE Basketball employee...

Talk of the "Olympic BB4's" made me sentimental...blew the dust of the "Gold Medals".

Ask a former NIKE Basketball employee...

CWK...no. We were posting at the same time; I should have used the quote function. I was referring to Rock: " On the Nike side.. there is the Designer.. the Creative Design Manager and the PLM..."

Ask a former NIKE Basketball employee...

You have underestimated the contributions of a great developer.

Ask a former NIKE Basketball employee...

Yep - the Flightposit 3's were destined for him.  The outsole design made panther face in his honor.  Too bad.

Where Is Zoom Air Most Needed At In A Ball Shoe

Well, Doctor. Did you calculate the fact that they just "may" have changed the film containing the ambient air to slow this"leaking"? You realize this issue isn't restricted to just Zoom, right? How long do you think that new LBJ 7 bag is gonna last? (Answer:Without puncture, and proper...

Where Is Zoom Air Most Needed At In A Ball Shoe

In order to manage the energy of an impact, you have to do "work". How do you do work? You apply a force over a distance. In automobile design, this would be a crumple zone, a collapsing steering column, or an airbag. The beauty of Tensile Air is that it is thin and flat. Applying air...

Where Is Zoom Air Most Needed At In A Ball Shoe

????? Published in JAMA? No. But proven, presented, and accepted by many educated people. Besides, basic 10th grade physics proves that it works. Why the hate?

    Nike SKYPOSITE

Thanks for the help~ I just got my pair today and they're the correct one with Skyposite. My pair's kinda greasy too, you can see the stain on the paper. but it just need a wipe I guess. ... I ordered a Kobe tee from Eastbay, and they magically mailed me a LEBRON LOGO tee with 'Kobe...

What happened to Tuned Air Basketball shoes?

It was a costly part to make: Air MAx plus the injected tuning parts.....too many $$$. Further, there were some patent issues.

Nike KENZO Power aka Zoom Power

Its the story I helped to write, my friend. If you actually work for the "brand", you should go back to lurking anyway. It is dangerous for active employees to be posting.
  14. catch22

Nike KENZO Power aka Zoom Power

PLM Parker killed the shoe only 1 week after the RFC Memo was issued. At the time of the memo, only sz 9(sample sz), sz 11 (Kenzo's sz), sz 13 (weartestsz), and sz 16 (LBJ's sz) existed. Because of Parker, the $$$$ were NOT spent to create a FSR of tooling for production...the upper materials...

Zoom Lebron VII Little info....NO Pics!!!!

Nike Basketball hasn't done anything exciting in years...anything you can point to the last couple of years came for from the Kitchen and that was forcedon them. And the leadership likes it that way. This way they take no risk; if it succeeds, they get the numbers and look good. If it fails...

Where will Big Yungin be in 2010... Does he in fact have Options???

Good thread. I think if LBJ really wanted a piece of his own destiny, at a market cap of $355million, he has the resources and influence to capitalize his own privateequity firm and buy UA himself. Then he could drive his brand/culture/product line as he sees fit without a firewall of useless...

That $4 probably cascades into about $32 at retail with all the middlemen. But your point is well taken.

With a max bag and flywire, I bet Nike is taking it in the shorts even at $160....its probably a $180-$200 dollar shoe.

Zoom Lebron VII Little info....NO Pics!!!!

The factories build (or re-build) the tooling data sets anyway, so if data leaves the factories, it is factory data going out the back door...notthe tech packages.
