He never wanted to leave DEN and when he got to NYK, people were always talking getting his replacement (Paul). And then he gets cut after an injury limited him to 1 game in that series vs. BOS. So he didn't really get a chance to do anything.

Ah well, it's business. If NJ doesn't bid on him, he's probably headed to MIA, which puts him closer to a ring anyway.
 
He's more hoping nobody bids on him so he can choose what team he wants to go to and get a new contract, on top of his old one. This fool ain't retiring if claimed.

CP3 isnt going anywhere this season (via trade). I'm very curious to see how NO's season goes after all this mess.

I'm not a Knicks fan, but I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to see him in NY. (I'm from NY if that matters)
 
[h1]Baron Davis has back checked[/h1]

Cleveland Cavaliers guard Baron Davis has left training camp to get a second opinion on what could be a herniated disk in his lower back, according to his agent Todd Ramasar.

"We knew he had an injury coming in to camp because he hurt it during the lockout," Ramasar told ESPNLosAngeles.com. "Cleveland was aware of it as well. After he took a physical, we had their doctors look at it and now we're getting a second opinion."

Ramasar would not offer further details on how Davis hurt his back. Davis was able to continue working out and playing after he was injured, although he appeared to be moving gingerly during a charity game he hosted in Los Angeles on Nov. 27.

"We want him to see as many specialists as possible," Cavaliers GM Chris Grant said. "We're very supportive of it because there are a lot of good doctors out there. We're supportive of him getting healthy."

Davis, 32, participated in just the first day of the Cavaliers' training camp. It was assumed he was sitting out as the team pondered whether to use the amnesty provision of the new collective bargaining agreement on the remaining two years and $28 million on his contract.

Ramasar said that's not the case.

"They're a first-class organization," Ramasar said of the Cavaliers. "Baron was planning on rejoining the team and proving support to a team with young exciting personnel."

The deadline for teams to exercise the "amnesty clause" is Friday. Grant said a player's physical situation would not affect that decision.

"Those kinds of decisions aren't necessarily based on health," he said. "I don't think Baron's going to be out long term, but he has some stuff we're going to deal with moving forward."

The 32-year-old Davis battled back and knee injuries after being acquired from the Los Angeles Clippers last season.

"We all got something as we get older," Cleveland coach Byron Scott said. "He was doing great this summer from all the reports that I heard. His back got a little sore and then he came here and it kind of flared up again. I'm not discounting him at all, but right now we've got to go with what we've got."

Stern is out of his mind - this is not a good look. I don't see how anyone can come close to the Clippers offer for Paul. Gordon and the TWolves pick + cap relief is better than any package that any other disgruntled superstar would command. That's better than any of the Dwight deals. Way better than what the Nuggets got for Melo. Better than what the Jazz got for Deron. Does the NBA know that Paul is a free agent next year? Would they rather lose Paul for nothing? This is going to lead to Paul making them a mediocre team so they got a bad draft pick, him leaving for nothing, and the Hornets being stuck in mediocrity for years. Crazy that there isn't more backlash around the league because of this.
 
Refuse to believe that the rest of the NBA just gave Billups a free ticket to Miami.

I don't like the guy and he's past his prime, but damn it -- that's a good fit.
 
They should have added something in the CBA like the MLB has (I believe) where teams get compensated with draft picks when a star leaves in free agency.

Someone correct me if I'm off. I'm not sure about that one.

He's definitely no longer at that elite level he was a couple seasons ago, but I think he could still be a serviceable starting PG in the right situation.
