Yo, dejavu like a……

ryda421 ryda421 been on a quest to finally read the Bible. Recently finished Paul’s Letters and there was an exchange in there between some cat and Jesus. Remained me of this exact instance. My initial post, your response.

Buddy asked Jesus something like, why do you speak to us in parables?. 😂Jesus cooked him:

Unlike us where you cook me and I’d rather speak well to you, Jesus had no good news for those who lacked understanding. For what it’s worth, it was prophecy and out of his hands.

Edit: correction the exchange I spoke of was in Matthew not Paul’s Letters.

I’d post the story I reference but, I already know reading it is not on your BINGO CARD.

I speak the opposite to you.
Great day for you today and tomorrow.
Since you lack understanding I’ll speak to that for you as well, may your eyes and ears both open.
that really is not the opposite. and how do you jump to your assumption that I do not understand? and how can you conclude that my eyes and ears are not open?

You are basing your opinion on the end of days according a book that has been translated and rewritten multiple times throughout human history.

and again you assume too much without any concrete evidence or references about who I am.

if you think it is the end of days according to scriptures, why not just unplug and move to the holy land and await the return?

Have yall ever heard of Pascal’s Wager? Imo thats rock solid logic.

Put yourself in the shoes of who you saw me as when this question popped into your head……is that what you would do?
Forgive me for asking you a question and not answering yours but man, I feel a question back is the only proper answer to a question like that.

and again you assume too much without any concrete evidence or references about who I am.
What did I assume?

You wished me a bad day and I wished you the opposite? I made no assumptions about who you are or are not. If you felt bad after I responded then or that feeling, it’s from you not me. I can’t own that I wished you well, mate.

This was actually the point(a great point you made) of your post I was most interested in responding to but NT mobile was not working with me, kept crashing and the post would not load(odd the others did)

With that being said, I think you may be a little sideways on the topic at hand and my “presentations” so let me clear a few things up. This wasn’t a post or a thread from a Christian POV. Let me be clear. I am no CHRISTIAN. I don’t put myself in that box. Personally I think the Christian Church is closer to the Synagogue of Satan than followers of CHRIST. It’s an institution (more like an LLC or Corporation) that has been infiltrated and overran by the dark arts, knowingly and unknowingly alike.

Me comparing modern times to storied times in no way says what you hear which is, well that doesn’t need to be explained it’s evident in your questions for me. But for sake of argument and no confusion I will explain that me comparing the two in no way states I’m someone who should unplug and move to a holy land because I’m a, CHRISTIAN? This is what you think a CHRISTIAN (or me) would/should do if I believe, it’s the end times? Assumptions are all over here but from you not I.

To the BIBLE and your words about its translation times over and lack of originality, substance or truth.
Again, I’m reading the BIBLE yes, I’m referencing the BIBLE in relation to the topic at hand. I’m not in here BIBLE THUMPING telling you it’s the truth.
I wanted to know what made this group/or groups of people in a certain region of the earth claim they are the chosen, so instead of relying on the NEWS and talking points spewed by folks “referencing” the BIBLE, I picked up the BIBLE myself and bean to read it. Now nearly finished you know what I found, my ow reasons for why folks feel they are chosen and what GOD (according to the BIBLE or the excuse chosen folks use) said about them and declared unto “them”. I got the information for myself.
As far as the BIBLE being the truth, I struggle with that as much as any sane person would who has the ability to think for themselves. Why would I be a believer in the BIBLE as GODS word when HISTORY is written by the victors. We had been lied to about the basic things, things we called truths or facts, why am I to believe, why would you or any believe the BIBLE would be untouched. Sir, I concur, I get it.

Me referencing JESUS cooking folks and the conversation between you and I reminding me of that, it’s as simple as that. If you read that as more or what you read it as, that sir is assumption.
The very thing you accused me of. Let’s talk….

if you are struggling with whether the bible is factual or fictional then you have bigger problems to worry about than the end of days.

*reading the Bible*

"This Jesus guy kinda reminds me of myself"

Anything of substance as it pertains to the topic or should I start a thread for this specific nonsense?

The state of the world has to be measured in four measures. And measured globally.

1. Quality of life for the fundamental needs
(water, food, housing, medicine)
It’s the best it’s ever been. We’ve lifted so many people out abject poverty and given access to billions the past few decades.

2. Short-term safety from death
It’s the best it’s ever been. Least violent time ever. Least homicides etc. Least large scale conflicts. Least deaths from violence.

3. Catastrophic large scale human generated mass calamity
It’s probably the worst it’s ever been. Between nukes and the resource drain of a 8 billion population world it’s not great.

4. Human spirit aka a sense of community.
The actual biological nature of our mind and body. I think we’re far removed from it and satiated with disease and opiates of consumerism, capitalism, obesity, etc. Arguably we’re in a better state than early agriculture revolution (10k years ago) but I think we’ve really lost our way with social structure of society. suburbs are an abomination. We’re social creatures. Very social. Social enough that worst punishment you can give someone on death row is solitary confinement. The fact we’ve reverse designed our societies for me instead of we is really hard i think on the human spirit.

My net comment being I think the overhanging gloom of #3 and the insidious nature of #4 make it hard for a lot of people to enjoy the advances of #1 and #2. That said, I think there’s hope and over a few hundred years we will see great improvement in those (if we make it). The internet and social media is a beast the world was wholly unprepared for and unfortunately we have to be the guinea pig generation(s). A few hundred years from now there is hope of a just and well designed society where this information access allows a true democratized access to resources + a society designed for inclusiveness and not loneliness.

What an intriguing way of looking at the World. What led you to the point of analyzing the World in four measures?
(To measure)Globally seems a given, what’s given you the insight to measure it by Quality of Life, Safety, Human Calamity(human nature imo), and Spirituality?
It felt really good reading the end of your post. That hope. Evolving at precipice in the face destruction., that “brink”.
We’ve been there/here before. Nothing new. What shall we do?

Appreciate the kind words. I think to create the resolve in myself to fight the good fight of maximizing our day to day lives I look for ways to internalize perspective. As I think the main responsibility of every individual is to master the empire between their ears. And for me a large part of that is understanding the ebbs and flows of the world are really only understood when viewed holistically and historically. To that end, I spend a decent amount of time learning about history. And it really helps to hear about the great civilizations of the past and their growth and demise. As well as the general nature of our species, our biology, and how we got to where are today. With that lens that’s how I broke it down into the four categories. That’s just what naturally occurs to me if i’m trying to grade the past, present, and ultimately future of what happens.

Im not sure i’m hopeful for our current generation but I feel more a sense of calmness that doing the best you can individually is more than enough. To enjoy the world that we currently have. That changes happen over hundreds if not thousands of years. And maybe there is one large calamity (like one nuke that goes off or something) that really course corrects us for the next 1,000 years. And maybe that “event” doesn’t even happen for another 200 years. I really feel deep in my bones someday that we will move on from this concept of nations, countries etc and simply be one universal people of Earth. Because scientifically there’s really no alternative with the interconnectness of the world. It may take thousands of years to get there but given we’ve been around for 300k years. And only in the last 10k years did we become dormant city dwelling type people. With the last 500 years having more change than the previous hundreds of thousands of years.
