Amazon invested $175 million into this website + Whatever they have to shell out from this deal.  There goal is to become the next GROUPON type website (worth reportedly $1 Billion).  Think about it 175 + 500 million they lose in this deal, they still up 325 mill.  I'm sure those wigs at Amazon will take that any day.

holy crap I checked the slick deals page and that thread was moving at the speed of light, went from pg 102 then I refreshed and it was up to pg 147
