Soooooo many times in recent history that has happened, and yet the individuals have denounce the support.

I think when you were born into a life where you were beaten or strung up for the smallest of things, and your parents and all of your people around you were also in this position, ans you saw these things with your own eyes, and felt so oppressed, ‘choice’ was not something you were even aware of as a human being.

It is kind of weird to me, that hip hop is like the only music genre where if you don't write your own ****... it can be a huge negative. Whereas other genres - rock, r&b, pop, country, whatever... half of those artists don't write their own ****. Just a pretty face / voice that is marketable.

Not saying that to give a pass to Kanye, it is still definitely disappointing when dudes don't write their own lyrics.

Many hip hop artists have to put on a “I am better than anyone” persona to sell their music and market themselves as geniuses or “goes harder than anyone.” You dont get that machoism in pop r&b rock or anything to the degree you see it in hip hop. So when you find out the bravado is phony and the verses are paid for or given to, then the whole concept of lyrical genius and master lyricist goes out the window

I think you're digging to deep. When someone raps or is a rapper it's just assumed and supposed to be from you. Biting rhymes has long been shunned in the rap community. It implies at it's core that this "is me speaking to you" it's real and unassuming. This has changed tho, a Ms Melody couldn't exist in the current hip hop climate. Similar to someone saying I'm a songwriter but doesn't write songs.
