I thought I read in the black/red thread earlier that particular pair was in commemoration of Mike losing his first slam dunk contest to 'nique. Nike is trying to carry the mystery of the air Jordan 1's to coincide with the return of the OG branding

Thats was me who said the Mj losing to Nique in the Dunk Contest. Im not sure if what I said is the real reasoning or not but thats the first thing that came to mind hearing the colors after all this rival pack talks for Jordan 1.

From something I've heard, the blk/red/university gold is the shoe that may be the West coasts answer to the blk/golds. We'll start to see once June gets rolling. Hopefully the Spurs don't get a hold of these Shadows for the finals . Don't want to see them walking into the arena or press conference rockin em or we're in trouble.

Those blk/red/glds sound great but if they're a "west coast exclusive" if you will then the west got the bad end of that deal imo. If nothing else.... At least blk/gld PL is an original cw. Or allegedly a rumored cw for MJs friends and family :x

LOL I just mean exclusive. But the shoe I was described didn't make me think of the Atlanta Hawks or their colors at all. Deep Red, alot of black, and gold, gold...definitely not to be confused with Hawks yellow. If I were to relate them to a sports team, it would be the 49ers no doubt. That was my first thought too. But this wasn't from a production sample so it very easily could be one of those sick CW's we never see. I would think a Hawks pair would have a lot of white like the areas on the Clover's, rather than black.

I played a part in the ATL Hawks talk as well. That's my fault, when I get info from my boy at JB I tend to forget he's giving me info months in advance before the actual shoe is in production or pics surface. I caught up with him today, he just got back from Nike campus and employee store, pair of Royals for his girl, Toro 4s and the fire red Vs that drop in Sep for him, I'm hating lol .... Anyways I asked about this red/gold color way that we assumed was a Hawks tribute and apparently that idea was tossed out the window. He mentioned something about JB turning them into a "sunset" theme, I asked if they were a west coast only release he said it was mentioned but nothing concrete. Not even sure we might see this color way like KK said.

As far as the Shadows go, still limited but the quality won't be as bad as the Chicagos which is a relief lol .. No official RD yet as of today just a bunch of dates being tossed around between here and August .

I expect the numbers to be a little less than the other FR Vs but they won't be as hyped as the grapes so we are good now back to the shadows...

Theyll probably look very similar to the AJ1Blk/grey, which are sitting @ Champs outlet around my way for $70, I imagine these will sit as well ,but who know now in days when it comes to retros, put limited along side them, and they fly off shelves..

July 27th is the date that's been floating since April 24th. That's via the annual FNL managers meeting so we've been hoping for at least additional confirmation of that date. If its like the past NA 1's, we should get final confirmation 4-6 weeks out from the release date. I was saying earlier that we should know by mid June for sure. That damn official pic is what I want.

We'll definitely need a thread for what we see July 17th doe. That ****'s gonna be causing a frenzy !

Time will tell, but if theyre limited sheep will flock, they really aint about nothing either way.. In the case of clover 1s ,they was hideous ,so they deserve to be benched, majority of the time limited can sell the shoe regardless of its look..
