So im going to University of Maryland in the fall which is like 45 mins-1 hour away from my house. I have about 30 pairs of shoes and I am thinking abouttaking 5 pairs at a time and everytime i come home ill switch em out for a different 5. Does anyone else have this problem about taking their shoes to schoolwith them?

this is general, shoes are lame.

The only people that are gonna notice your shoes are guys. Just take the essentials and that's it.

The best idea is to take the essentials like said earlier. A few pairs of every day chilling shoes, some shoes to beat up, and some shoes when you wanna"get fresh".

I don't follow my own advice, though.

Trust me fam, just bring your beaters or an everyday pair. College is a completely different place than high school. Nobody care how you dress/what you'rewearing.

you'll dress fresh for the first couple weeks, then you'll start wearing a white tee + sweats/bball shorts + nike/jordan slides + fitted

8am classes FTL

i mean im not doing it for anyone else i just genuinely love my shoes i dont care about being "fresh" for anyone else but myself

then why ask us if you already made your mind up.

I "had" to bring majority of my shoes to my dorm room (long story) during my freshman year. Out of the 20 or so pairs I brought, I only really rocked5 in the first 3 months of school. When I was able to take my shoes back home, I just kept the 5. Now that I'm on summer break and living at the crib, Istill only rock those 5 really.

Real talk, all you really need to bring is a white pair, black pair, shoes to ball in, a pair of beaters, "nice" pair, & sandals.

I lived about 45 minutes away from school last year, and I came home every week or so and swapped out some shoes and clothes. You wont have enough room foreverything, especially in a dorm.

i dont care what others think about me. i jus care about looking proper. so if i wear the same kick twice in 1 week. oh well i dont care.

Like others said, just bring the essentials. Anything more and you will stand out as a freshman. Some of my friends and me sometimes just chill behind theschool and you can just tell who is a freshman because they still dress like they're in h.s. One semester I wore the same kicks until it started to snowand I put on boots.

for realllllllll man, after like the 3rd week, you wont care what youre wearin, if its clean, if it matches, etc etc

i did notice an exception with schools heavily based in cities - ex) UChicago, NYU, UToronto. fashion tended to be more important (still not that big of adeal) than schools based in college towns

after you realize that the bums in sweats and flip flops are smashing all day you'll stop worrying about what kicks to bring.

I did my first year at Cheyney University. Brought 5 pairs of sneaks to school every week since I only lived 30 mins from school. Second year...I stoppedcaring so much. Rocked sandals/slippers all day.

If you go to an HBCU, I'd bring the best shoes that I have. Those schools r fashion shows

believe me when i tell you ... you are NOT gaining any advantage by wearing shoes that are "cool" in college ... most kids wake up and roll to classin what they wore to sleep ... and especially at UMD when half your time will be spent at cornerstone and bentleys getting trampled on by all the drunks ... istarted with jordans and ended up rockin new balances and nike boots almost every single day ...
