I’m a 3/10 concern level about this.
Only because we all survived a modern day pandemic that lasted years.
I do think there will be a little bit more casualties but I don’t think it will be anywhere as near as close as May 2020 - May 2023. That was the definition of a epidemic.

Here’s a good article. This virus has been around for decades. There was even an outbreak 6-7 years ago. What scares me is this buffoon Trump and everyone he’s hired. They’re all morons that don’t believe in doctors or science because they’re dumb.

Same here buddy. 100% immunocompromised due to being a transplant patient. And this ******* administration is NOT going to screw up a 22+ year continuous new life. NOT GONNA HAPPEN! I'll take my own health and care into my own hands. Masks, hand sanitizer, and try NOT to be indoors where larger crowds will be.
And if anyone who claims they have done their "own research" and all that other BS, I got one thing to say.... DON'T SPEAK TO ME! I take modern science & modern medicine VERY seriously and VERY literally. It has a saved my life now 4 times, and given my life back when I was so sick and couldn't do anything nor be away from a bathroom for more than 15 minutes.

Yes, I'm scared. Frankly terrified as I know NO ONE in charge gives a ****! And no vaccine due to RFK, so there's that. I know for a fact that had not gotten the first vaccine back in mid 2020, because when I got Covid for the 1s time in January 2021, I would have been on a ventilator as I had NEVER been that sick in my life. 2 weeks of hell, and I've been through some SERIOUSLY wicked medical **** in my life.

Unfortunately, at least in our lifetimes and probably the next, this country will never shutdown or quarantine at scale again. COVID genuinely broke something in people's brains and asking people to be good neighbors and help those more vulnerable was a step too far for a lot of people.
Short of the actual plague returning i.e. something that causes horrible, visible suffering, I just don't see the country quarantining again no matter how many people get sick and die.

All that would mean is even more ppl will get sick and/or die. You don’t really have to be a good neighbor or help the more vulnerable to quarantine. It’s self preservation.
The idea that ppl would be so stubborn to just keep socializing and going to work as if a deadly virus isn’t spreading is crazy and hilarious though. Risking death just to not quarantine.

maybe its early to tell. problem with pandemics is like the last time once it becomes widespread its difficult or not possible to control or contain it. And I don’t want side eyes, laughter or nasty looks if I wear masks again.
