Are Pre-Workout Supplements bad for you long term?

    Supplements like NO-Xplode and Jack3D help get you pumped for workouts, but are they bad for your body long term?

    i used to use jack3d, but i've stopped. that stem effect wore out its welcome. it was cool when i first started, but after a while..

    as far as effects...there's been reports of acne in the short term, which i can attest to...and theres also been quite a few guys that have attributed jack3d to speeding up baldness in the long term...

    When I took Jack3D and I would come down off it, it would feel like I was coming down off coke or some %+*@.

    bad for your heart from what i understand
    anything that has the same side effects as viagra is a no go in my book

    an old school professional bodybuilder (dude in his 60's) said espresso is the way to go.. idk bout all that

    cmon dudes we have a whole huge thread dedicated to this...in which these questions have already been answered!

    Use it when you need "a boost" not - all the time.

    Rely on food sources for energy.

    I don't think it's the creatine.  Creatine is a compound that the human body creates, it's also found in red meat.

    I'm convinced that acne comes from whey or any milk derived proteins as well as any supplements that cause an abnormal amount of HGH to flood the blood stream sort of like when your in puberty.

    I've used Kre-Alkalyn and no side effects.  No bloating...nothing.

    Like Silva said, we really have no long term studies to go by. I would assume yes though. Just like any other "drug."

    I use Jack3d atm.

    Yes it gives me that boost. I w/o after work. I'm a cubicle warrior and the monotony just wears me down.

    and yes it does have that "stim" effect. I go through cycles with it - after finishing a tub I go 3-4 weeks without it then have it again.

    When NO-Xplode came out it was awesome, but the taste was awful. I ODd on it and I had to stop...but boy that thing set me off like a firecracker.

    If you think it's bad then don't take it, plain and simple. They can't be any worse than real-juicing though.

    8weeks on 4 weeks off, time off is for ur receptors to cleanse, if u don't go off stims and creatine ur body builds a tolerant to it. That is all , pimples are usually cause by too much stuff going on in ur liver, do a liver cleanse also while off of stims or creatine

    Not necessarily. Going off creatine will make you lose water weight. The lean muscle mass you gain while youre on it will still be there. The acne your friends get can probably be from whey protein perhaps(assuming they do take it postworkout)?

    Jack3d works for about 4 uses than fades away. Either had to increase the scoops or give it 3-4 day breaks. 1 M.R is like just like Jack3d but stronger. No-Explode gives me terrible stomach pains. Going through a tube of SP250 just to try something new and liking the results thus far.

    What gets me is people don't do their research. They see a big dude at the gym and find out whatever he is taking. No type of research at all. I wish people would stop treating whey as if it is legal steroids. The way folks speak of it you would think that is what it is.

    I dont use anything with 1,3 dimethylamylamine in the ingredients

    All that stuff is junk and the fitness industry is garbage. Stick to the basics.

    Mannnn that crash is serious for me as well. I thought it was just me. However, I was working out/lifting hard for like 3 hrs straight and wouldn't even know it lol that #@%% REALLY IS CRACK!!! I've stopped using it though as I worry about the long term effects as well. I might have a small cup of coffee before I lift now. A lot cheaper.
