Asian Culture Discussion Thread

Wouldn’t necessarily say “pretty Right leaning country” as definite catch all to this stupidity. Stupid is as Stupid does anywhere. But having known few Aussies, both White & Asian, and even from former coworker (older native Mexican Californian) who visited with his wife (older native 3rd gen Japanese Californian), they all say country is like 50/70 years ago America.
If that makes any sense.
Yea I know what you mean. I didn't mean it to sound like everyone who's on the right are racist. Actually far from the truth. It really is stupidity and ignorance.

One of the biggest problems for AUS was in being so open, friendly and thus naive to CCP tactics. Now they have huge influence over AUS politics, economy, education system, even society. And unfortunately good Australians who happen to be some kinda East Asian get dumped on.

That video was confusing as hell. I didn't understand a damn thing she was saying and to top it off, it took me a minute to realize it was a she. Or maybe she identifies as a he. There's a screaming child. She has a Jesus cap on! A lot of questions.

is it really right leaning there? I always thought that it was more left leaning like the EU countries or Canada

Lived in Australia for 3 years. Australia's a pretty right leaning country, and there's a fair bit of racism there. There's also a lot of lunatics on public transport there. Meth (they usually refer to it as Ice) is rampant. The saddest thing about that whole thing is that animal has a child, and feels it's alright to do that in front of her child.

In terms of race, yes. It's actually similar to the US, pretty divided on immigration issues. The current PM is a right wing conservative.
There are also a lot of EU countries who lean right on racial and immigration issues. People mistake being happy and laid back and a more democratic socialist society as being left leaning and open. The populist movement has grown in the past few years and it seems like a correction for the drastic increase in openness and globalization from the past decade.

Now if you're talking about the economy and what the government does to help it's citizens, nearly every 1st world country is left leaning compared to the US

If you've been to Asia, especially Southeast Asian countries like Thailand and Indonesia, you'll understand Aussies' views of Asians pretty well :smh: :smh: :smh: There's a lot of trash people out there that are no different than the rednecks and inbred Trump supporters here.

Kiwis are 1000x nicer in general though.

I'm late on this, but the level of pettiness...seriously, doesn't their government have much more important things to worry about

Now, Taobao and Pinduoduo have pulled the game at the request of the Chinese authorities. But why? According to Daniel Ahmad, a senior analyst at Niko Partners who specialises in the Asian video game industry, it's down to two things: Animal Crossing is being used by Hong Kong protesters and others to create politically sensitive user-generated content, and it's a smash hit on social media.

 :pimp:

Taiwan will not censor a game where you pick up tree branches and grow turnips, players, feel free to make fun of the government.
Democracy and freedom of speech are Taiwan's most important values, everyone can use any medium to say what they want to say, please everyone cherish this ("lifestyle"), go ahead and play at your heart's content.
#you can troll/meme/make fun of us, no problem
#but please don't make jokes about the epidemic
"Please cherish our Taiwan, a place where you can play video games freely"

Said this before in the Virus Thread and got lost in the scrub, there are stupid racists everywhere. We only have ourselves to protect and look after own. Grew up in Red, have lived and work in Blue. The amount of ignorant instances personally experienced in Bay Area even before the Virus no joke. The article just strengthened my beliefs.

And I deal with people across the board personally and professionally as an individual. Felt Bay Area was very Balkanized. People stuck within themselves.

Honestly, I’m a big fan of those collapsable police batons. Made in various length and weight. Unfortunately not legal in the People’s Republic of Kaleeforneeia. Used to hide/carry on self or even in messenger bag sleeve on commute.
Obviously avoid trouble and worst case situations.
All in for self defense.

I also found out that the name “lulu lemon” was made to mock how Japanese people can’t pronounce the letter “r”

Had to google it to confirm and unfortunately it’s true...

The effing DHead.
What guy actually wears this women brand.

A bunch of nt’ers have said the lulu lemon stuff for guys is great quality and comfy. If this forces them to lower prices then I might get some stuff.
