Technically, aren't they all really the same game with more characters?

The correct answer is mvc2
Agreed. That game was fun and I enjoyed unlocking the characters. Wish MvC3 was that good.

Mv3 roster is good wish they woulda kept movement akin to mvc2

Can't even agree with that. I hate how they kicked out all SF and Xmen people. Basically if they had a TV show or a movie coming out you were in the game.

Mvc3 as a whole just sucked :x

People dont do nothing in MvC2 but spam Sentiel and Cable :|

Stopped playing that a long time ago....

blastercombo blastercombo Nah.

Take out TACs, nerf Zero, nerf Vergil, nerf Morrigan, nerf x factor and mvc3 becomes godlike.

Since that won't happen....mvc2 > *

I absolutely hated mvc2 in its later years tho. Only 9 characters were playable. Everybody else got forcibly loved by the top tiers. Got monotonous and lame seeing Mag Storm Sent Psylocke or cable ALL the time.

You playing the wrong people then man. So many fun games using low tier characters. Beating MSP with Charlie guile and tron :hat

So take out everything that makes mvc3 mvc3? :lol exactly.

Mvc2 AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL only uses a handful of characters, correct. Now name a game that uses the entire roster at the highest level........ There is none. Not street fighter, not MK, not injustice, no game.

And if someone sucks and uses top tier it's EASY to beat them if you know what you're doing.

Xmen VS Street Fighter  I swear I will murk ANYONE even if I let you pick my characters. Put that on mom dukes

I know :lol
but I can name more things that need a nerf in mvc2 than 3. Literally the only things holding back mvc3 are those 3 chars, and 2 wack mechanics. X factor n tacs are decent ideas they were just executed like crap.

No game uses the entire roster but seriously...6 points and 3 assist chars out of 50? That's dumb. I'm not at the highest level in any fighting game but even if I can pick MSS and scrub you out with un-reactable mixups, runaway when I get the lead with storm or bully you with Sent lockdown/chip.

At least in mvc3 you see a little variety. The gap between the tippy top tiers and the rest is way smaller in mvc3.

Also I'm forever salty about my dude Amingo.

Marvel vs Street Fighter and MVC2. My favorite fighting games of all time besides Killer Instinct Gold.

Overall I'd have to say MvsC2. Especially if you're a casual player who plays with other casual players. As far as watching it tournament wise nowadays I honestly find it to be boring. For reasons already explained by others in here.

How many characters are used in mvc3 at too level? Maybe 10 different? Not a huge difference.

My biggest problem with mvc3 is the level of execution needed to one hit kill someone. Literally too easy. The game devolved into who can land the first 3 combos and the game is over. Yeah mvc2 had infinites but they were way harder to do and don't automatically mean a kill because of the decreased damage mechanic. Mvc2 also went back and forth. Using the best characters you still had to land at least 4-5 hard combos to kill.

Mvc3 also had such an awful assist damage mechanic :x . Some characters were impossible to hit when they are called out for an assist. Others were dead with just a simple DHC :{

Every super was 0 frame after start up with invincibility and they give the opponent an opportunity to call their own during the start up screen with so many being projectile safe? :x

The inability to safe roll :x really? Literally half way broke the game.

Xfactor is so bad and I think we all agree on that.

Mvc2 was broken by accident but added to the game , mvc3 is broken intentionally and just BROKE the game :lol

Overall MVC2 was just hands down better. Yeah the keep away game was a viable option in that game but there are was to deal with it.

Please tell me you know what vagina feels like

Jk man :lol

I'm not a tournament player although I wish I was, but MVSF and MVC2 do it for me. MVC3 was good untilb some of the charterers became spam city

X Men vs Street Fighter was the best for me. Seeing X Men drawn as anime really appealed to me. I played it a lot in 6th Grade and in middle school when MvC dropped that was it. I was already in HS by the time MvC2 dropped and I didn't really have much interest in going to arcades.
