i too have endured the same struggle for many years now. theres a few good spots out there, maybe 1 for every night of the week. Other than that you're gettin the oontz oontz music.

People that go out to clubs often dont listen to hip hop as a whole in the west coast like sone of us do.
Most dont know Cam'ron, Young Buck, UGK, 3-6 Mafia, Nas, Outkast, French Montana, etc they might be able to name a handful of songs but that doesnt make em know what hip hop is.
They know the radio songs and what they see in the videos.
In the south and eastthey got clubs but its different types of clubs, here in Socal its dance clubs that play RnB also.

hence the reason why clubs out here are wack.
what really grinds my gears is that clubs out here start shutting down around 1:30-2ish out in New York stuff don't end til 4ish or 5ish which is more acceptable to me.

I agree. This is very VERY annoying. I HATE that damn techno Oontz Oontz crap that they always play or mix in. I'm trying to dance and stuff not just jump up and down all night

and like i said its different in the bay area...DJs get hated on if they keep playing techno throughout the night. i dont really like it either, but then again i go to clubs more for the women not the music, so whatever gets them going is fine with me

And with that said they dont play enough of 3-6 as it is, thats how you know they playing
They arent playing Nas or UGK cuz clubs out here arent based on hip hop or rap. The south is the total opposite but you prolly wont hear too much Jay-Z either.
youll hear rap when youre at the strip club but thats everywhere.

I agree 100 that most clubs in SoCal play pop and top 40. I live in SD and most clubs play that techno music with a little sprinkle of hip hop

I've been to the Boombox in Chinatown LA. I saw dimes dancing to Big L and ATCQ when I was there. Not the best of venues but it was nice to see people putting it down for the culture.

When it comes to club music, NY definitely slaughters Cali in this department. There are however lounges in Los Angeles that will strictly spin Hip Hop.

I've been to clubs all over america, and no part of the country gets it popping like a clubs in the South. People here come to the club to have fun and party. Not sit back and look what each others wearing or who's classy and who's not. Music in the clubs here is so good it will either get you bunns, ready to knock somebody head off their shoulders, or have you in your own groove vibing by yourself. You west coast people don't know what your missing. Yall can have that porno music, give me those club bangers old school or new school.
