Camping Appreciation

i love backpacking/camping. cant wait until my son is a little older and we can go exploring together :smokin

Need electricity, so it's a no for me, dawg.

Also, had an encounter w/ a bear last summer, so it's a wrap for me as far as hiking, too :lol

And what happened? You're more likely to get injured badly from falling, slipping, tripping or getting stung by wasps. Dogs kill more people than bears.

Bear was about 5 feet from my face. That was enough for me.

Appreciated. Friends and I would drive up somewhere by Forrest Hill, Ca and backpack down a mountainside (forget the name).

After hella switchbacks (like an hour and a half descent) you’d reach this three story waterfall which ran into a pool. We would set up camp and just swim/drink/smoke/hike for three days.

There was water slides made out of the smooth rocks/running water and ledges to jump off of. Hella fun. The only downside was climbing out after a three day binge of partying, swimming and climbing lol

i been homeless on the street back in the day so going camping in a tent on a beach is no fun for me.
i did it a few years ago though, on what was supposed to be a weekend fishing trip. i lasted almost until the morning on the first night and ended up going to my car for a few hours and then i went home and stayed home

my son is 6 now and he's been asking to go beach camping so he can fish, look for crabs and turtles, and make a campfire. we woulda done it but my wife just gave birth and we ain't gonna family camp anytime soon. i might just take him myself one night.

Been trying to convince my friends for years to go camping in the Everglades

"****** don't go camping"

:smh:

Not into camping, but this seems like a solid setup.

I pretty much spend half the year in the backcountry and have spent time in wilderness almost everywhere in the States. Y’all want any advice on anything I got ya

Not a fan. Don't mind the activities, but sleeping in a tent is

I can remember waking up and everything feeling damp from the morning dew and being like nah I'm coo with this. I hate being dirty too, no access to a shower, having to use one of those latrines. Hell no.

Dudes I went with got mad cause I used like 3 bottles of water to wash my feet before I went to sleep. Not trying to go to sleep with dirty *** feet.

I could do all the fishing, hiking, cooking and all that, but I would need to haul it back to the hotel after that.

:wow: Drinking water though?

Man I’m so jealous of people out west. East coast just can’t compete with regards to back country/wilderness/geography.

I try going every weekend in the summer. Overnight backpacking at least. Much appreciated. My setup 2 weeks ago

Last weekend camped in a cave. It was too cold to stay in there all night though so I had to move.
