Tried it for the first time today. This stuff is straight crack. I used to stare at it on the Chinese menu and pass over it every time. I thought it was going to be bland. I was just curious today and it was well worth it. :hat

You started this thread to make me hungry didn't you OP. :{

Why did I google pics of said rice? :(

I would get it more often if it doesn't take a long time to make, thus leaving you sitting at your table forever.

Run to your nearest Chinese spot and order it. Now. Dead srs, I used to pass over it thinking its just plain steamed rice with toppings.

word? Gotta check the menu closer then all i've seen is variations of fried rice. Sounds good from googling the pics though. :evil

Get this when fall comes.....

Add soy sauce, mix, and you get this..

I just made myself hungry......LOL

Why wait till fall?
That's just the tradition, you don't get chinese jerky sausages/cured duck (pictured) until the fall when it's starting to get chilly, so restaurants don't serve it until the fall seasons arrives. Speaking of jerky sausages they make these only for fall + winter as well, you never see these as a dim sum at a proper Chinese restaurant.
