I am aware of that, but after you cook the potato in the microwave you wrap it in foil for 5 minutes so that the remaining hot steam will cook the potato allthe way through and make it soft without burning it.

Yeah, you never use foil in a microwave.
Wrong! A lot of new microwaves from 2008 and up can have metal in them while being used.

Sister got a new microwave at her spot and I had to test this out to see it with my own eyes.

Warmed up some soup with the spoon in and foil on top, nothing happened

Yeah bro, they just recently came out with new research saying that it's perfectly fine with microwaves from 2006 and up actually.
