so the point is, if you even for one second thought that these girls might stand half a chance against the worst mls team ever then you should never watch the sport again, and you should seriously reevaluate yourself as a person because i hate you.Originally Posted by o fenomeno

a few years ago the USWNT played against a u16 southern california ODP team with a bunch of starters and hope solo in goal. they got smashed 5 - 1, and it wouldve been worse if not for hope pulling off some nice saves. these kids are 15 and 16. and they stomped the best female players in the country/world. in fact, here is a decent run down of the game.
"I recently got back from two scrimmage games over the weekend at the Home Depot Center; the U.S. woman's national team vs. ODP B92, and a second game vs. ODP B93. The Scrimmage was set up in two games of ninety minutes, with three thirty minute periods for each game. The USWNT was divided into two equal teams of 12 or so players. The first group played the early game vs. a full side of eighteen 92 boys. The second group of players played the 93 boys an hour later after conclusion of the first match.
USWNT vs. ODP B92
Verses the ODP B92 the USWNT was soundly beaten 5-1. It very well could have been much worse, the US keeper came up with brilliant point blank save, after save.
The good & bad:
USWNT was tactical superior, and had long stretches of crisp possession in the middle attacking third of the field. The U.S. also demonstrated a quality first touch and driven balls were surprisingly accurate and well timed. ODP 92 where much faster and explosive to the ball and were able to take advantage of this by out pacing the U.S. back line on through balls played into space. Vice versa the superiority in flat out speed also force the USWNT to play in front of the boys back four, hamstringing their two forwards. Although the USWNT had the majority of the possession the ODP 92's had the lion's share of quality chances.
Side Note:
I suspect that all the teams that were involved were asked to ratchet down the physicality as not to injure anyone. This undoubtedly was a good thing because in the handful of collisions that did occur the women more then not got the worst of it."
Relax, fam. I already took care of him a page or two back
