Reagan also opposed a National holiday for MLK & also disagreed with the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Reagan was no angel likes he's portrayed hehas a few blemishes on his legacy bot domesticly and on foreign policy.

I'll always associate Reagan with Iran-Contra, bringing Cocaine into this country, and then leading a misguided war on drugs, fooling all ofAmerica into thinking he really cared about inner city neighborhoods

remember too that his first election was against Carter, who after three years in office had the economy worse off than it is now, was in deep for the Iran Hostage Crisis, and was generally looked at like a hillbilly who was not prepared for the job, who then ran into Ronald Reagan who was UBER smooth and took the ethnic vote which is hard for us to imagine now but is how he won.
No doubt, Jake. President Obama, himself, recognizes the parallels that he draws to the time/way in which Reagan came into office. I'm mostexcited to see what he draws from it. For me, R.W. Reagan's charisma is to be admired... his policies, not so much. I mean - say what you want about hiscrazy offspring but the fact that the son of the greatest "modern" politician of a particular party joins the other party speaks VOLUMES.

Obama said it multiple times that he will raise taxes on the rich no higher than regan era tax percentages. And the ear lobe thing is just a funny fact aboutregan that has nothing to do with anything political. I just find it humorus.
