I understand they didn't used to be the douches that they are now...

They used to stand for what Reagan said in his speech. Less government involvement.
Hence cutting social programs ect.

They used to care about NOT getting involved in your life now they are the exact opposite.
They want to tell you when to have sex, abort, and who to marry.

They used to stand for keeping The Union intact, and Federal importance over state separatism.

They did a 180 during civil rights legislation.

They also switched Geographically From the Northeast to the South East
