did i get scammed?

i asked a seller if they had a buy it now for the item i wanted they said yes and asked me to send as form of gift to avoid paypal and ebay fees. i said fine and sent paypal via credit card. i sent at 2pm and haven't herd from them since. should i give it a day before i overreact? or file for a chargeback right away?

eh, unless your covering my paypal fees, it's payment as a gift or no deal when i'm selling.  that 4% adds up after a while.

tim teufel, did you send the payment out today? if so i'd give him until either monday or tuesday before doing anything, since in some areas post offices are closed on saturdays or they close earlier then others. to me solid communication is crucial when i do deals though so if anything i'd hit the seller up and ask him when he intends on shipping your item.

you sent today and havent heard from him? CHILL, SERIOUSLY! if you dont hear from him in 2 days then worry. but you paid with credit card so your covered since you can file a chargeback with CC.

it sucks, but some ( a lot actually) sellers dont make communication a high priority after a sale.

Maybe dude has a 9-5 on the weekdays and weekends are spent out and about and little to no computer time. Give it til monday afternoon then freak out

True, but 2pm on a Sat? I'd understand if they spoke just before the payment was sent.
