you comparing a 3.7 liter v6 and a 5+ liter v8?
Engine displacement has nothing to do with "how special" an engine is. Im just saying that motor is very overrated and people who praise it like its something truly different or special only do so because of a lack of experience with "truly special' cars.
I equate it to the Cadillac Northstar motor in the 90s (an engine I still love btw).... not bad engines... both run smooth and plenty powerful for a DD. The Northstar absolutely killed the 90s with much praise awards just like the VQ in the 00s but both engines become mad unreliable once modded. These are engines basically tuned for the best balance between power and reliability straight from the factory. IMO a "special" engine is an engine that can hold well over 500 hp in factory form, do burnouts and drags all day at the track without detonation and then drive home cool as a fan. I.E Buick 3800
VQ is aiight.... but its a motor marketed towards the sheepish masses that will never truly explore the limits of their cars or driving skill.
