Dressing Better Vol 2.0

im not sure how any of those look forced bro, one is a hoody, a down jacket and pants with jays, nothing really overmatched, the other a henley, some jeans, jays and a blazer and then a short sleeve shirt and some camo pants... :lol

I don't know that I'd say forced but it's not even about being overmatched, I agree that most of those pieces don't work that well together as a full outfit. A baseball cap, blazer, ?henley?, scarf, jeans & high tops Jordans? Nah, it doesn't look effortless.

lol at people coming into a thread titled dressing better

and think that people dont put effort into their fits.

please post pics of effortless outfits.

Aware me so i can catch sloots

No hate, these are all good fits, BUT IMO they don't look like DB

1st pic, your dressed like a regular sneakerhead in the winter.

2nd pic, you look like your attempting a GQ pic, but didn't have dress shoes.

3rd pic, another regular yet casual sneakerhead fit(dress like somebody who works at Kith or diamond supply

4th pic, Far too much going and looks like your TRYING HARD to fit DB and sneakers and it comes off wrong.

All this IMO.

There are many ways to DB with Jordans, but none of those pictures represent them. IMO, DB with Jordans could simply be a heather grey slim tee + 513 dark denim + some I(Bred),III(black cement or White cement),IV(black cement or white cement or Black Lasers),

IMO steezy, none of those look like DB. 2 pics look like regular sneakerhead get ups and the others just don't fit what NT's image of DB. Granted 3 of the pics are nice fits

The hate and scarf fit looks really forced.

Heres what I think DB with Jordans look like

For those of you that still do wear J's, which J's do you guys incorporate/could incorporate into dressing better? Also, any recommendations on some low top sneakers/shoes? The only low tops that I own are my Mali Low (Clark's) I want something that's pretty casual (goes with denim/chinos + a button-up etc) Glad I came across this thread because I found this jacket. Easily one of my favorites, if not my favorite piece in my closet.

I think all of these are nice.

Picked up this vest from J.Crew Factory for $58. Any suggestions/recommendations on sweaters to go underneath?

I actually like this. I bought that J.Crew button up a while back online when they had their 25% off but it sold out/was backstocked so they asked if I wanted the Manor Blue instead. *shrugs*

@ksteezy, thanks fam. Right on, liking those fits. I mainly wear 1's, 4's, & 11's. Those flyknits are nice. Would you recommend any other low top sneakers (non-nike)? I looked into Jack Purcell's, Common Projects, Clark's, & Sperry's. I think I follow you on tumblr :rollin

For low tops you can't go wrong with some white canvas Jack Purcell's.....I also really like my Tretorn Nylites too :smokin Oh and Clark's desert boots go with A LOT of different types of looks/outfits

Thanks dude. How's the comfort on Jack Purcell's? What stores carry Tretorn Nylites? I'll look into those as well. Haha, I've been debating on getting a pair of DB's, I just don't know which one yet.

see now, thats what i consider trying too hard/forced, the whole hat/blazer/scarf thing i can see why see why some of you may think is forced, but in all reality take off the blazer and is an outfit like any other...scarfs from my experience on here never seem to sit well with most, dont know why, i love scarfs.. :lol

any of you have any sample fits with red chinos? i'm kinda feeling the ones in the jcrew site, the smoke red and cabernet: http://www.jcrew.com/mens_category/pants/chino/PRDOVR~19488/19488.jsp
Adrian put up a nice one a while back.

I don't have a red pair of chinos, but I have a burgundy pair of wool trousers...very versatile color

Here's a horrible picture from almost a year ago:

btw we all have our interpretation of what DB is and i think thats whats great about this thread, weve gone round and round about this topic many times, DB doesnt nessesarily mean a pair of AE's and a Tom Ford suit, or some chinos with a chambray shirt and a bowtie, to me DB is more in the fit of things rather than the actual pieces....and i posted those pictures as samples of what i consider DB with sneakers/jays is as that was the question asked.....unless you truly believe a 3 piece suit and a pair of cement 3's work better...

RE: sneakers for 'dressing better'. You can't go wrong with Jack Purcell. Even the folks who have no issues shelling out $2k for a pair of fine footwear love them. Not too many people are into luxury sneakers because once the soles are gone...they're gone.

If I can only have 2 pairs of sneakers, I would choose white Jack Purcell for both. One in low top. Another one in high top, sized up half size to be able to account for thicker socks in the winter months.

Man, this debate comes up so often that I had Adrian put up on the first page as the reason the thread exists :lol

There are so many rules when it comes to men's wear, I'm certain that 99% of my outfits violate at least one of them.

There are no rules when you dress yourself. Dress how you want.

No rules to Dressing better. Its all based on personal style and IMO.
In terms of traditional men's wear...there are definitely rules. Some of them are deep, goes back into the history and evolution and such. Unique read, but I doubt I'll ever follow them fully.

No rules boss man. Some people might think red chinos looks odd while others think its fashionable. Style has always been about opinion, never fact.
