47 hours in and I just visited Windhelm, Winterhold, and the college for the first time. I just went to orientation to the college of winterhold and got my dorm room 

. I'm still level 16 cause I have just been walking around exploring.

I haven't even finished any of the guilds yet

To discover new dragon shout words talk to the Argenier the Greybeard leader in the High Hrothgar and he will give you a small side quest and direct you to a new world wall one a time.

You can take torches off the wall to make the room more dark if you are trying to sneak

When attacking with bow from far away press the sneak button to do double damage, even if you are not a sneaky character

Most items that you put inside your home will stay there, so you can safely decorate it however you like

Using Unrelenting force will stop any enemy casting/channeling

Every major city stables has a wagon which you can use to fastravel to other cities you've never been to

In most major holds there is a map with little flags on it that you can use to mark new places on your map

If you give your companion a torch they will use it at night

If you want to keep sprinting don't let your stamina run out fully as it takes a few seconds to starts regenerating

If you see oil on the ground there is usually a lamp you can knock on the ground to set the oil on fire

You can dismount a horse in the water and then mount it again to have regular speed

You can equip a pickaxe and "hit" the ore vein to start mining, likewise you can dualweild them to mine faster

Waiting (Press T) will fill up your Magika/Health/Stamina bar instantly

Try reading every book you see, the bigger the value of it, the more likely it has a free skill up or a quest inside waiting for you

To hide your UI while taking screenshots type in tm in console (~), then type it again to bring it back

Dragons will only land if you are in a clearing

Your horse can climb up mountains that you couldn't on foot.

You can take keys from your companions to have access to their house

If the NPCs are asking you about your health ("feeling sick?" or "You feeling alright?") that means you have a disease, use a shrine to cleanse it, or craft a disease curing potion and drink it

Don't sell all of your magical weapons since you can disenchant them and level up your enchanting skill that way

You can place baskets on peoples head and then steal their stuff without them noticing

You can hotkey your favorite items by opening the favorite menu (Q), highlighting the item and click 1-8 buttons on your keyboard

Fire does the most raw damage,Frost and Shock do the same amount of damage, but ice drains stamina and slows the enemy, and Lightning drains magicka.

You can revive every living creature exceptdragons with the Reanimate spells in the Conjuration tree

Making Iron daggers and Leather Bracers is a quick way to level up early smithing, use them for enchanting skill ups or sell them to a vendor for speech skill ups

When you increase your stamina you also increase your maximum carry capacity by 5

Mammoths and Giants won't attack you unless you attack them

By holding the "Use" key you can move items around.

When you trade armor to your companions they automatically equip it if its better then what they currently have.

Resting in a bed will give you rested status, allowing for bonus XP gain, restin in your own bed (inside your house) will give you a well rested status allowing for even more bonus XP

By wearing Amulet of Mara (which you can buy in Riften for 200g) you have an option to marry people, marriage provides all sorts of benefits for you. For more info on marriage and list of spouses [4] SEE HERE

To see locations of quests on your map select them in your journal and hit M

Nice list but spamming some of those exploits to level up sounds boring. I would rather do it naturally.

Man I logged like 8 hours in a 24 hour span (

) and then my *%%% glitches. The glitch won't let me join the Companions. I just about finished the Proving Honor mission (already got the ruin with Farkas) and I'm all ready to get jumped in but when I go back to their hideout Kodlak and Sjvor act like I haven't completed the mission.

In the menu, Proving Honors is listed under my completed missions but the last part, return to Javanskor isn't checked.

Are the companions that big a part of the story? Should i just start over?

Saving back ups every hour from no on smh.

Got the game today and logged six hours already. Currently level six and just got lidia for slaying my first dragon. Joined the companions as well. Great game so far.

I should've joined the college way earlier.  The lesser ward magic would've helped me out a lot.

I'm at the mission where I was betrayed while trying to assassinate the emperor and when I'm back at the sanctuary trying to escape, I hop into ol' girls coffin/sarcophagus as instructed and the screen just turns black. I cant use my guide or pause either. I'm tight if its glitched.

But so far I finished the Companions and the Thieves guilds quest lines (I did the last thieves guild quest for the achievement and then loaded back so I could keep the item youre supposed to return

). I have like 3 quests completed for the main quest, lol. Currently level 29.

this is the first place i went b/c i had no clue what i was doing ... i want my archery, sneak, and speech skills to be 100 ... i'm getting robbed by merchants right now

i love this game ... i need to do the companions mission so that i can get rid of farkas and have lydia join me

i've bought most of the sneak perks and when i go up to people w/ my dagger ... it barely takes off energy ... what gives?

how can i figure out time played? ... i have no idea how many hours i've put in ...

in the trade window, there is a horizontal line that seperates the sellers goods and you own.
selecting anything of your own gives you the option to sell it
havent played in a couple days, im level 17 Argonian. Game is overwhelming, to say the least

The voice acting in this is amazing.  It's a huge improvement over Oblivion and it may be the best I've seen in video games.  When you speak to the leader of the greybeards...

quick leveling up early in a game did this earlier for an hour and leveled up to 25 ha ha ha

what you need

shield for blocking

bow and arrow

go to the giants near Whiterun
arrow one of them have it chase you to the watch tower where you became dragonborn go inside the door way
the giants cant come
equip shield
go near enough where you can block the attacks
equip health
every block you do with your shield = blocking skills go up = quick level up
every time you use health magic your restoration skills go up = quick level up

every time he hits you block it, back off use health to regain HP, go near the giant again block his attack..rinse and repeat.
you can use any magic EXCEPT destruction magic to level up the skills. since the only way to level up the destruction skills is to actually hit the giant.
you get bonus on using light armor so it'll level it up too
you get bonus using heavy armor

enjoy.

47 hours and only at level 16 come on sir, step it up

40 hours in level 33, game is amazing. I have only done 4 main quest the rest are side quest and exploring

my main perks are

Destruction - level 65
Bow- level 55
one arm - level 63
Smithing - level 65
Sneak - level 100
Speaking - 53

One tip i will give everyone, get the dog at Falken. The dog is part of a quest (dont complete the quest) so he cant die and he is really helpful when facing a large groups of enemies.

THIS GAME IS AMAZING

Had to completely start over last night and I'm not even mad. Got all the way back to level 10. Destruction magic up to 40 and One Handed also up to 40.

Yea I used the giants and mammoths to get my destruction and archery up. At first I was just firing on them and then running away with the windsprint shout but then I got Ice Spike, it's the business because it slows them down so I don't even have to run. Then I just use my bow while I wait for my magic to recharge. Since they have so much health you're pretty much guaranteed to level up your destruction 2 or 3 times per mammoth.

Had to restart today all the way back to a save at level 8. Lost Lydia and didn't realize it for like 2 hours, she had a bunch of enchated heavy weapons and dragon bones and scales

Back to level 11 now.

I had ordered my Special Edition Guide from Wallyworld and it was supposed to have been delivered yesterday. So I go to check the tracking from FedEx and the damn thing was last scanned in Ohio on 11/17 and hasn't been scanned yet

Thinking they lost it or someone took the damn thing
