F1 Official Thread - Grand Prix of Britain

Man... what could have been! I think Lando had the pace, but those tiny margins!
I would have bitten your hand off for a P2-P3... but they had the pace!
Kimi and Lando were in their own race. Both had similar pace, with Kimi having the clean air.

Max Fraudstappen strikes again
lol, comes from someone with a lewis pic as his avatar  you have zero clue about F1 buddy!

first race of the season that looked more like motorsport IMO. hope FIA keeps improving the regulations.

That was a fun one. We were at turn 18 so quite a bit of action including that Gasly and Lawson crash which was nuts with car turning over. Freakin Ferrari, always something with these jokers, man. Those pit stops too ugh

The Haas team was at our hotel and it was kind of fun running into Ayao Komatsu and Ollie a few times.

I guess we can’t post videos directly from devices so no vids of the actual track and racing that I took

Talk to me when Max can pass someone and keep all four wheels on track

Race was a banger!

Kimi got the juice now. He just needs to maintain this form during the European leg of the season. He crumbled last year until he sorted himself on the back half. He still needs to get his starts in order. I don't think he has had a good launch yet this year.

George better get his **** together because McLaren isn't too far either. The Merc will probably destroy the competition once they get upgrades in Canada.

Mox goofed and so did Sharl. I don't know how Max won driver of the day when he spun on lap 1 and finished 3 places below where he started. Should have been Kimi.

Sharl has these moments every once in a while where he overdrives the car and crashes or spins. Unfortunately it happened at the worst time yesterday. Ferrari is in desperate need for more power tho. They can't keep up with Merc and Mclaren.

Lewis got screwed when Colapinto damaged his car. I think he wanted to retire the car but they told him to keep going but that's what happens when you qualify close the midfield.

here we go! streamable worked perfect for this. taken from all three days over the course of the race weekend:

this last one, excuse the poor quality. not shot on iphone (my GF's only shortcoming :lol )

Pretty decent seats and a good turn to see some divebombs and/or switchback overtaking.

Were the cars loud at all? I'm assuming earplugs weren't necessary.

loud for sure but not enough where earplugs were a must. a bunch of people were using them but most did not. it was interesting hearing the different cars and how they sound. like max's redbull has a super hit pitched hissy turbo sound when he puts the pedal down coming out of that turn. and then the racing bulls sounded super rough compared to the other cars that had a much more smoother sound when they're on it

Yeah, it's interesting how different the cars sound from each other when you're watching live. On TV, they all sound the same, but I remember watching live in Malaysia 2001 and being surprised how different the McLaren-Mercs (V10) sounded from all the other cars. They all have distinct sounds and is only noticeable when you're there. Quite fascinating.

yeah sure, that‘s why max got all these penalties yesterday for his moves… oh wait!
like i said -> no clue.

ah yes, the gold standard for racing standards and etiquette, the formula one stewards

If people at my local karting track showed up and started racing like Max this weekend they'd be black flagged and asked to not return lmao

We're still very far away from solving the flaws of the current regs, but this is a start.
